We seek a Development Coordinator (DC) who will implement fundraising operations, create compelling donor communications and develop strategic executive supports to advance TFA-Twin Cities efforts to achieve ambitious development goals. The Development Coordinator is directly responsible for managing donor information systems to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Development team and Executive Director through process improvement and systems management. The DC will report directly to the Manager for Grants and Individual Giving for the Twin Cities region and will work closely with the Office of the Executive Director and the Regional Operations Team.
The DC will support planning and execution of donor acknowledgements and gift processing, individual giving campaigns, major donor communications, and donor stewardship events. The DC will craft thoughtful, targeted donor communications developing organization collateral that can be shared with external partners and stakeholders through digital tools (Pardot, Facebook, Instagram, email, etc.). Leveraging expertise in our Salesforce-based CRM system (‘TFACT’), the DC will manage and track TFA’s weighted revenue pipeline not only working to raise funds to support our corps member and alumni programming, but will also creating the donor infrastructure and procedures to support the regional team to develop success stories to share with external stakeholders in a compelling and responsible way. This position is critical to ensuring that necessary infrastructure and systems are in place to foster an engaging culture of philanthropy within the organization.

The DC will leverage operational excellence and organizational skills to provide foundational complex and extensive day-to-day administrative support to advance the impact of the Development team and the Executive Director. This role has opportunities for professional growth and development through project management and collaboration with the regional team. We are seeking a candidate that is a strong and sophisticated communicator, highly organized, and experienced at implementing systems to increase efficiency. Ideal candidate for this position will also have demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with others and operating with a spirit of generosity and flexibility.
Development and Data Management (50%)
- Consistently execute on TFA’s donor acknowledgement and gift processing protocols to make sure all donors feel recognized and comply with IRS guidelines
- Create and maintain up-to-date program and organization collateral that can be shared with external partners and stakeholders
- Develop expertise in our Salesforce-based CRM system (‘TFACT’) to manage and track TFA’s weighted revenue pipeline, and work with regional team members to help ensure data integrity of constituent data
- Manage the accuracy of data recording, including timely uploading of new contact information, professional sector and employment information, and changes of contact information
- Develop expertise in Pardot, Workday, and other systems, as needed
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and non-staff reimbursements as a regional buyer
Executive Support (40%)
- Organize, prioritize, track and manage workflow and resources across multifaceted responsibilities and frequently changing and competing asks of the Executive Director’s time and regional resources
- Leverage operational excellence as well as communication and organizational skills to provide foundational complex and extensive day-to-day administrative support for Executive Director (ED), developing systems and process improvements for calendar management and anticipating and acting on any operational pitfalls that may arise in ED’s day-to-day
- Partner closely with the ED and regional leadership team to ensure the ED’s time is aligned to our regional priorities and scheduled in a way that protects the ED’s sustainability and energy
- Manage the ED’s travel schedule (i.e. booking travel, calendar adjustment, and keeping track of her travel expenditures) and budget, including sharing spending updates with the ED and collecting and ensuring compliance of receipts
Regional Team Responsibility (10%)
- Support Twin Cities regional operations by executing regional responsibilities such as ensuring compliance with TFA human capital, finance, and data management policies and procedures and contributing to regional and national meetings and events
- Advance TFA’s mission by participating in recruitment and selection for corps members and mobilizing alumni and community leaders to strengthen the movement for educational equity
- Advance team culture and sense of community by operating within TFA's Core Values and commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in project management, operations, research, and/or communications required; previous experience in development preferred but not required
- Previous experience working in or with Teach For America region or within a non-profit organization in the education sector preferred but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
- Experience using Google Docs and digital communication platforms (i.e. Facebook, Hootsuite, Instagram, and mass email communication applications) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to persuasively and succinctly articulate facts, ideas and opportunities to individuals and groups communicating what is inspiring and important about TFA’s work
- Highly organized and motivated to create operating systems that save time and create clarity
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to initiate and multi-task while demonstrating impeccable follow through on ideas and projects
- Leverage contextual knowledge, expertise, and sound judgment to make timely decisions that are aligned to the Development Team plans and the Executive Director priorities and time
- Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion

- Familiarity with Salesforce or other development software and/or digital communication platforms including social media and mass email software preferred but not required

Work Demands
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
- Minimal travel required, approximately 3-4 times a year
