Support Functions and FM&C Support
Salary: £36,994 per annum + good range of benefits

Finance business partner for Directors of WVUK support functions and assist BP for Fundraising, Marketing and Comms. To proactively develop reporting, systems, policies, processes and controls and, in particular, drive benefits from the SUN6 system introduced in 2017

Finance business partner for Directors of WVUK support functions. These include F&R Director (New group name TBC), People & Culture Director, CEO & Board and relates to management of Team budgets and CAPEX and financial project work. [NB support for Strategy group will be a FTC contract for FY18 but will be expected to be covered by this role from FY19]. Support / cover for Finance BP Fundraising, Marketing & Comms (F, M&C) on Mondays and Fridays. To proactively develop reporting, systems, policies, processes and controls and, in particular, drive benefits from the SUN6 system introduced in 2017. The role requires hands on involvement with development, production and analysis of financial information for budget holder support and to assist directors in all financial aspects of their accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop understanding of the purpose and Christian mission of WVUK
Integrate Christian values into own work and actively contribute to creating, developing a Christian culture within the Finance and Risk group and representing this to the broader organisation and externally
Establish and cultivate relationships with relevant directors and budget holders
Fully understand the financial risks and opportunities for the area of responsibility and incorporate into financial forecasts / present options to directors to manage budgets
Considering WVUK’s activities and priorities, prioritise and manage responsibilities to ensure value added from the role; supporting the HOF and other BP’s as needed
Collaboratively bring together financial expertise and commercial acumen to deliver value adding solutions to customers. Lead project activities engaging key stakeholders both internal and external to WVUK.
Ensure Budget Holders have all the necessary information and training to understand their financial position and make informed decisions going forward
Ensure that recognised accounting practices understood as appropriate and implemented
Support production of financials; review and prep as required of Accruals, Prepayments, Budgets, Forecasts, CAPEX, Risks & Opportunities, variance analysis, data integrity (and correction), project reports
Finance systems, procedures and reporting – Initiate and deliver change where appropriate and beneficial. Support changes ensuring all staff equipped and trained
Provide information and support the preparation of information for annual financial and ad hoc information requests
Support decision making including preparation of business cases for investments and ad hoc analyses to inform and aid in decision making
Provide financial support for contract negotiations and value for money analysis
Facilitate budget decisions in the context of wider organisational requirements
Promote and encourage financial transparency and good stewardship - ensure financial, organisational and control risks and opportunities are made visible and escalated as appropriate
Cover for Finance BP F, M&C on Mondays and Fridays (Mondays are more important)
Salary & Headcount reporting - track and report payroll costs by individual for budget holders
BP support to Philanthropy - reconciliation with the team of monthly legacies income
Support/Sounding Board/Advice for Finance BP F, M&C including financial analysis and review of accounting data to get to the bottom of these issues.
