Reporting to the Regional Communications Director (RCD) Southeast, the Regional Communications Manager (RCM) serves as member of the regional marketing and communications team, working as a regional extension of the national marketing and communications department. The RCM is a strategic partner in executing on organization-wide goals, amplifying messages locally for key activation moments and highlighting local programs and partnerships with national resonance. The RCM supports media relations in their region, serves as a brand ambassador for their region and works closely with their RCD as a strategic communications partner and regional liaison for the local revenue, advocacy and MCH teams.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Media Relations - Develop and maintain relationships with regional press contacts within the territory. Work closely with RCD to develop strategic media relations plans to amplify and promote the organization’s mission, goals, messages and campaigns to increase impact and reach. Oversee all media activity for assigned markets within the region. Increase public recognition for the organization and ensure that the organization is properly represented in media. Proactively garner media coverage for the organization, local events, initiatives and local leadership. Identify media opportunities as well as potential crises. Develop written materials and media messages to meet outreach needs in assigned markets. Provide interview preparation for local leadership and spokespeople as needed.
  • Brand Ambassador – Working closely with RCD, serve as the leading brand representative for the organization within assigned markets. Increase brand familiarity through more consistent and powerful brand positioning. Educate the regional markets of the organization’s overall mission, brand and advocacy efforts and provide them with the tools and resources to do the same.
  • Strategic Communications Partner – Serve as regional liaison to the revenue, advocacy and Maternal Child Health (MCH) teams. Work to advance the organization’s objectives with Marketing and Communications goals in mind. Collaborate with partners reinforcing the awareness and revenue goals of the organization.
Educational Background: 
College degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-6 years related experience.
  • Experience with media relations.
  • Strong project management skills needed.
  •  Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
