The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking an undergraduate student to intern with the Americas Initiative team in the Miami office for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semester. Ideally the intern will be available beginning in October 2018 through December 2018, with the possibility to extend through the spring 2019 semester. The internship will focus on the development and outreach efforts for our US Territory with an emphasis on writing acknowledgement letters, conducting prospect research, event planning, and donor engagement.
This internship is unpaid. Students are often able to arrange academic credit, as Human Rights Watch internships often offer direct exposure to the workings of an international human rights organization, close supervision by the HRW staff, interaction with other U.S. and international organizations and foreign and domestic government officials, and opportunities to attend lectures, trainings, and special events relating to human rights. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
