Fundraising Campaign Manager, Student of the Year

Responsible for managing elements of the Long Island Chapter's Students of the Year (SOY) campaign to exceed revenue goals. Students of the Year is an exciting leadership development and philanthropy program in which high school students participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage elements of the Long Island Chapter's SOY campaign.
  • Manage budget and control expenses to effectively meet or exceed FY18 budget goals.
  • Effectively recruit and manage fundraising teams.
  • Ensure growth of the SOY Campaign through motivation of participants and implementation of key fundraising elements.
  • Plan events related to SOY Campaign, including fundraising workshop, Kickoff Celebration, and Awards Ceremony.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments across the chapter in order to achieve desired fundraising goals.
  • Support staff or additional campaigns including but not limited to Light The Night, Black Tie Events, Man & Woman of the Year
  • Oversee chapter-wide volunteer engagement strategy and recruitment of volunteers for all chapter events and office support.
  • Oversee chapter PR initiatives and outreach for all campaigns.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS’s mission and programs to promote the Society’s fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience: 

Experience Requirements: 

  • 2 – 4 years fundraising, communications, sales, marketing, event planning experience
  • Previous experience as a Campaign Specialist

Position Requirements:

  • Collaborate with Mission Team ensuring success of patient access, education, public policy, advocacy and research
  • Able to supervise groups of employees and volunteers
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media & emerging online channels
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
  • Travel within the Chapter's designated area.
  • Required to work evenings or weekends.
