At Habitat for Humanity of Burlington County and Greater Trenton-Princeton (HFHBC>P), we are builders driven by accountability who work alongside, not for others and are defined by our stick-to-itiveness. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily operations as it relates to the fiscal functions of HFHBC>P in accordance with generally accepted nonprofit accounting principles and practices. The Staff Accountant will serve as the finance departments liaision with the other areas of HFHBC>P. Directly responsible for General Ledger Account Reconciliation and Analysis, entering and reviewing general ledger entries and monitoring AR as it relates to mortgage payments and delinquencies.
The position requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands timely, but carefully thought-out results. A high level of financial expertise is expected and the ability to identify, prevent and correct errors is important. Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to make strategic financial recommendations/decisions required. Experience with construction and mortgage transactions along with a general knowledge of Quick Books preferred but not required.
- Oversee the affiliate’s general ledger for accuracy; perform monthly general ledger close-out along with the CFO.
- Responsible for all accounts receivable including, but not limited to ReStore, Resource Development and Mortgage Servicing.
- Responsible for the timely processing of the company Accounts Payable.
- Resolve all issues and ensure all accounts are accurate and payments received/remitted on a timely basis.
- Assist with company yearly audit including working with all departments to gather all documentation needed/requested by the auditors.
- Assist with monthly reconciliation between Finance and other business units.

- Being a team player
- Quickbooks preferred, but no required
Physical Requirements to Perform Duties:
- Ability to be stationary for long periods of time at a computer
