The Strategy Realisation Office, through the Global Office of Strategy, Collaboration and Innovation, are looking for first class data analysts, critical thinkers and problem solvers with a passion for simplicity in the midst of complexity.

As a strategy specialist you will be comfortable with data. Lots of it. You will be able to pull data sources together, develop models, identify trends, test hypothesis and build compelling arguments in support of change and simplification.

You will be presenting to the highest levels of leadership within World Vision and engaged in high profile assignments that have the potential to radically transform all aspects of the organization.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Data Modeling:

  • Work across federated entities within WV to establish end-to-end perspectives on systems, processes, resources and data.
  • Link diverse data sets to help WV leadership better understand operational dynamics, issues and possible solutions.
  • Build models and forecasts to test hypothesis and build compelling arguments in support of strategy realization.

Business Process Improvement:

  • Develop recommendations for streamlined business processes and simplified global operations.
  • Manage an annual planning calendar ensuring the key meetings are scheduled well in advance, stakeholders are aware of agenda items and able to contribute on time and key steps in the process are aligned globally.
  • Collaboratively engage and unite WV internal stakeholders to implement successful transformational solutions.
  • Identify business process Key Performance Indicators that drive performance and ensure continual improvement over time.

Field Forecasting Capacity Building:

  • Develop the tools required to support field offices determine the cost of delivering FO strategies.
  • Provide direct support to FO strategy and finance staff as they develop accurate field funding forecasts.
  • Monitor regional / global roll up of FO forecasting and ensure alignment to OP2030 targets for context, depth and mix of funding.
  • Conduct analysis and escalate issues with clarity for further engagement through PRAC or line management.

Leadership:

  • Lead data analytics workstreams and project components taking accountability for decisions as required and keeping senior leadership abreast of developments.
  • Support senior leadership decision making, framing issues and presenting information in a way that eases understanding and encourages dialogue and resolution.
  • Provide strategic advice to key stakeholders developing materials, recommendations and guidance documents as required.
Educational Background: 
Master's degree preferred, in economics, business administration, public administration, international development or related field.

Education/Experience:

  • Broad and deep experience in several functions, esp. on international development and management and cross-functional senior management experiences within WV.

Technical Competencies:

  • Strategic Planning Knowledge and skills: Demonstrates an ability to perform strategic business planning including identifying existing and emerging issues of strategic importance, overseeing analysis, strategy communication and opportunity recognition. Skills in developing position papers using research and strategic thinking is required.
  • International Development: Strong knowledge and understanding of humanitarian industry (relief, development, and advocacy), including how INGOs operate in the global and local contexts. Understanding WV current ministry and operations is critical.
  • Finance and funding Knowledge: Applies understanding of the broad financial basis of the organization, strategic resource allocation, and understanding funding model.
  • Biblical Scripture Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of biblical scripture by accurately applying biblical scripture in decisions, recommendations, and actions.
  • Business Know-How: Applies a broad-based understanding of key business fundamentals with knowledge of World Vision’s organization, strategic relationships, and the business/political environment. Uses a high-level understanding of finance, operations, marketing, information systems, and human resources to manage across departmental and functional lines. Evaluates and manages risks to the organization at all levels.
  • Performance Management: Demonstrates ability to design and implement performance management system, monitor leadership performance, report and document performance, and develop recommendation for strategy development and goals setting.
  • Written Communication: Expresses ideas, thoughts, and concepts clearly and effectively in writing, using correct and appropriate grammar, organization and structure.
  • English Language Proficiency: The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
