Reporting to the Associate Director of Regional Programs, the Regional Program Manager (RPM) acts as the first point of contact between HFHI and country program where specific projects are implemented in coordination with HFHI or directly by HFHI. The RPM supports the implementation of strategic and innovative program implementation and expansion of the assigned countries. The RPM may be assigned to assume interim leadership positions on specific projects during the absence of the key leadership and according to established delegation of authority policy and matrix. Depending on the specific responsibilities the RPM may represent HFHI in National Boards of Directors or may assist National Directors with specific agreed upon projects and/or initiatives.
Vision and Planning:
- Actively promote, enhance, and maintain Habitat for Humanity’s mission focus.
- Serve as an advocate of Habitat’s ministry, encouraging participation in the movement to eliminate poverty housing.
- Supports effective implementation and monitoring of the strategic, business and annual operating plans of NOs by providing direct support or through AP SME’s quality programmatic technical and advisory services.
Program Support and Coordination:
- The RPM supports the implementation of strategic and innovative program implementation where HFHI has a direct or indirect role in the specific initiative. The RPM may be assigned to assume interim leadership positions on specific projects during the absence of the key leadership and according to established delegation of authority policy and matrix.
- Serves as coordinator between HFHI (HQ, AP Area Management Team, AP Area SME’s) and leads country coordination meetings during no travel weeks.
- Supports Area Management Team meetings for areas of responsibility and ensures that HFHI support is implemented appropriately and that HFHI commitments are delivered for the benefit of the national organization.
- Monitors NO's compliance to HFHI standards, policies and agreements and to the implementation of quality prorgams.
- Promotes and supports the implement of Habitat program initiatives and innovations znd to take advantage of HFHI support for Volunteer and Youth Programs, Appropriate Construction Technology, Finance, Program Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation, and Training, strategic planning.
- Prepares country updates for different interdepartmental needs RD, Tithe, Communications,
Governance:
- Monitors National Organization compliance with HFHI policies and agreements. Policies include those affecting best practices in governance and HFHI Standards of Excellence and National Organization requirements including monitoring and oversight of SOAR reports and SICP findings, making sure that the corrective measures are implemented according to the agreed upon action plans.
- In the event of non-compliance the RPM works with the National Directors to develop remedial plans, monitors implementation.
Administration and finance:
- In coordination with the Regional Finance Manager monitors and approves HFHI’s fund transfer requests for National Organizations.
- Reviews and provide relevant input to grant applications from the National Programs s/he is responsible for.
- Facilitates the approval of proposals which meet current policy standards for amounts not exceeding limits set in HFHI grant approval guidelines; recommends proposals for higher amounts to the Director or Associate Director of Regional Programs
- Recommends requests for National Organization support funding or for any special purposes, directing recommendations to the Director Regional Programs.
Resource Development:
- Collaborates and coordinates with the RD and FOI team in APO to provide relevant and consistent support to NOs in the development of resource development plans: advising on plans, recommending partnerships, encouraging the development of grant proposals, and recommending strategies that will assist National Organizations to move toward sustainability.
- Draws on the support of the Director of Resource Development and other HFHI specialists as required.
- Supports NO's resource development activities such as grant proposals, partnership development initiatives and donor relations management as maybe required
- In coordination with the Associate Director, responsible for coordinating and conducting project updates with GFN partners, providing them with the Program Department's strategic funding priorities and opportunities to discuss and address project issues with the respective country Program Leads.
Fiscal and Organizational Responsibilities:

- 5 years of experience in the area of technical expertise with proven record of success.
- 2 years international experience, preferably with an NGO or INGO.
- Experience managing international programs will also be considered
