The MIS Specialist will work closely with the MIS Manager, Senior MEAL Specialist and key stakeholders to implement a MIS system for the project. S/he will determine the project's technology requirements, design, develop, test and maintain the technology platform, software/s and its database, including end user documentation and training.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for the end-to-end technology initiatives of the project
- Support the selection or development and maintenance of the project's technology platform
- Guide handset selection based on budget and project requirements
- Manage staff and contractors involved in the delivery and maintenance of the technology platform, liaising also with mobile operators, content providers, technology vendors, government and project stakeholers to ensure proper configuration and management of the platform
- Document and adopt development processes, best practice methods, tools and coding guidelines
- Participate in database design, prototyping, development, testing and deployment of front end applications by identifying, understanding and developing user requirements
- Map the flow of data and reports to implement automated solutions and process
- Develop technology frameworks/tools to assist in program and impact assessments, work progress and project data analysis, providing also recommendations for improvements to current processes/offerings.
- Work within, advise on and contribute to the global, shared Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) technology platform
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS or related field.
Skills/Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software and database development, implementation and maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Strong Programming Skills and Tools in a team environment
- SQL Knowledge (Required)
- Experience working in a global/multicultural organizations across multiple time zones (+)
- Familiar with Test Driven Development (+)
- Knowledge of Salesforce Apex and TaroWorks Programming (+)
- Mobile application development (+)
- Source/code control (+)
- Familiarity with Mysql and MSSQL (+)
- Strong IT background with application development and platform management
- High knowledge of open-source software and systems integration best practices

- Able to communicate complex technology concepts with non-technical staff
