Under the guidance and leadership of the Sr. Specialist, perform a wide range of general HR support and related administrative functions under different labor contexts in the Asia Pacific region. He/she will serve as point of contact of assigned department or unit and coordinate various HRLOD matters with different departments and/or subject matter experts.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide HR services in support of the employee life cycle where needed. As a focal point, coordinate the HRLOD needs of department staff and ensure their needs are being attended to and supported.
- Serve as HR point-of-contact on Professional Services Agreement (PSA) process
- Conduct HR onboarding of assigned department; Coordinate progress and completion accordingly.
- Coordinate or in most cases provide specific HR admin functions, such as but not limited to, enrollment and administration of statutory benefits, COE’s, employment certs and visitor’s visa letters, monitoring of GA contracts and work visa, probationary employees, contract employees, secondment contracts, personnel movements, PD updates, org chart.
- Process payroll of assigned location through the accredited payroll vendor/s and ensure tax compliance and labor regulations to the assigned country location.
- Develop new or review existing HR policies and manuals, as required
- Conduct research on employment practices and salary benchmarking
- Conduct salary surveys as maybe required
- Support the resolution of employee relations issues and concerns, in coordination with the HRLOD Director.
- Participate and/or lead investigations of the code of discipline and investigation committee.
- Support and participate in HRLOD events and activities
- Coordinate goals management progress and completion of the assigned team with the LOD Manager and respective Supervisors
- Develop safety and security plan of remote offices as needed in coordination with Safety and Security Focal Person.
- Process the recruitment and onboarding of interns and volunteers, both local and international.
- Process procurement of HR-related services in support of the assigned team's staffing and office (e.g. background check vendor, agencies etc).
- Handle staff separation and resignations; Ensure exit interview is done in person or through online format and submit report to the Supervisor.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Science or Business Administration
Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years as HR generalist
- Experience in performing general HR functions
- Knowledge of the Philippine labor law
- Highly adaptable with strong collaborative skills
- Excellent organization skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to keep confidential information
- Demonstrate ability to handle competing priorities and multiple tasks
- Strong written and oral English language skills
- Strong service orientation - provide consistent and reliable service making every effort to meet and exceed requirements and strive for excellent, value-added service in all areas of administrative support.
- Strong mission orientation – professionalism in word and deed in keeping with the executive office of a Christian ministry such as Habitat for Humanity
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate effectively with people from different walks of life
- Excellent computer skills (internet, MSoffice, email etc.) and experience in managing database
Preferred:
- Highly adaptable with strong collaborative skills
- Experience working in an international organization preferred
- Experience working with a remote team is highly preferred
Beneficial but not required:
- Knowledge of Philippine immigration law and expatriate employment
- Knowledge of India labor law or other Asia Pacific context
- Working knowledge of Philippine statutory benefits and administration
- Experience in compensation and benefits including job design & evaluation, salary benchmarking and structure
