The Coordinator is a key driver of the Habitat for Humanity Young Leaders Build (HYLB) campaign and will be responsible for the overall as well as the day-to-day coordination and communication between the Asia-Pacific Area Office and national organizations in all aspects of HYLB. S/he will lead the implementation of the HYLB strategy ensuring all Habitat entities execute its plans and projects, and in consultation with other departments, shall contribute to the achievement of regional targets across HYLB pillars – advocacy, awareness-raising, fundraising, and volunteering.
Areas of Responsibility:
Planning and Coordination
- Support the HYLB regional team in the planning and implementation of the HYLB annual campaign and long-term strategic plan.
- Lead the effective implementation of the area office plan to deliver HYLB targets including facilitation of regular work-in-progress calls and meetings with the regional team and national organizations.
- Support national organizations in the design and development of its annual HYLB objectives, targets and activities.
- Identify areas for collaboration and explore/expand opportunities for partnerships that result in growth in scale and reach.
- Support the implementation of key regional initiatives and activities under HYLB including the Leadership Academy, Scout Build, advocacy grant program, regional online competition, among others.
- In consultation with relevant departments, promote the buy-in of the HYLB Ladder of Engagement and ensure stakeholders understand the value of youth leadership and volunteerism by tapping into new/existing youth advocates and supporters from the national organizations.
- Work with the area office and national leadership to ensure the mainstream participation of youth in all aspects of Habitat programs and ensure compliance with Habitat standards of excellence.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Regularly coordinate with HYLB regional team and national organizations to ensure national and regional activities, and targets are on track; create and maintain a tracking system.
- Manage all information related to the progress of activities including a database of country-specific activities, administration of HYLB volunteer database and regional events calendar; regularly update and maintain the HYLB folder/site on Sharepoint.
- Ensure timely submission of reports, case studies/impact stories, visual content and other program milestones that will be useful for future design/development of volunteer education resources, annual reports, and presentations.
- Facilitate the creation of a post campaign evaluation report and annual campaign report.
Partnership and Resource Development
- Coordinate closely with the Units Head of AP Resource Development to maximize and expand fundraising opportunities for the campaign ensuring sustainable funding
- Prepare proposals and presentations for funding and partnership opportunities in close coordination with the fundraising teams at AP and NO levels
- Develop and maintain HYLB pipeline of corporate, FOI and HNI prospect and partners
- Work closely with the Direct Marketing Unit to develop an online fundraising and donation portal for HYLB and launch an annual online fundraising appeal for HYLB and the Leadership Academy
- Support and work closely with the National Organizations in preparing annual and long-term HYLB fundraising strategy, developing proposals and grants, and creating partnership leads
Marketing and Communications
- Support the AP Communications Department to leverage mainstream, digital/online media to publicize and promote HYLB.
- Support national organizations in developing promotional materials and collaterals, merchandise and other brand/profile-raising activities or efforts, in liaison with the AP Communications Department.
- Ensure alignment of partners and cooperating institutions and national organizations in the use of HYLB key messages and branded publicity materials;
- Identify opportunities to showcase HYLB milestones in national, regional and global events and conferences, in collaboration with the AP Communications Department.
Educational Background:
Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in related field
Skills/Experience:
- Three to five years working experience
- Experience in running a multi-country/multi-cultural campaign
- Project management experience
- Youth engagement experience
- Good English-language writing, editing and presentation skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
- An ‘all-rounder’, with knowledge working at both national and regional levels, delivering projects with no/minimal budgets.
- At ease prioritizing and switching between multiple tasks as needed; able to translate overall goals and objectives of a campaign into actionable steps
- Able to build productive working relationships quickly and be comfortable working on their own or in a team
- Experience working in a non-profit organization beneficial but not required
