Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Associate Director (FOI) - Foundation Organization and Institutions. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development for Asia and Pacific (AP), the Associate Director - Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (FOI) is a front-facing fundraiser, responsible for the development and implementation of the overall FOI strategy in AP for securing new and renewed grant funding in support of our mission. This high-level, experienced fundraiser works closely with a broad spectrum of stakeholders in AP and AP’s various national programs to maximize fundraising opportunities and leverage complex funding primarily through large, private and AP based foundations and institutional funders to meet Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) fiscal revenue goals for Asia Pacific.

In addition to the above this position will also work with HFHI FOI fundraisers from Europe and Middle East (EMEA) and United States (US) to maximize fundraising opportunities and leverage funding primarily through large EMEA and US based institutions (bi- and multilateral), foundations and donor organizations (including governments, EU, ECHO, development banks, UN agencies, NGOs, etc.) to meet revenue targets in accordance with the strategic plan for various AP programs. This highly-motivated and successful fundraiser will aim to meet seven figure income targets in the beginning years to USD 10 Million annually in three years’ time. This position is based out of Manila, Philippines.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Solicitation (30%)

  • Develop and maintain and AP wide external network and relationships with potential FOI donor organizations that align with HFHI strategic priorities. Maintain a master FOI prospect management database which has the potential to deliver seven figure funding to the AP programs in collaboration with the Resource Development team and program stakeholders in AP, EMEA, Latin America and US
  • Work in close collaboration with cross-functional program and HFHI stakeholders to draft proposals and supporting materials for major grant applications; ensure all grant proposals, concept papers and other materials align donor requirements and interests with HFHI funding priorities and needs; and support/mentor frontline team in grant development process at the National Organizations in AP
  • Brainstorm with program leadership to create new methods of fundraising for HFHI such as alliance building, joint ventures and/or collaborations

Cultivation & Stewardship (30%)

  • Regularly meet and/or surpass our fundraising targets through effective donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Engage program leadership of HFHI through a donor relationship management process to maintain and manage long term relationships

Strategy (10%)

  • As HFHI embarks on globalizing its resource development workforce, collaborate with the global FOI team and other global RD and Program stakeholders to research and develop global strategies that generate six and seven figure commitments to support Habitat’s AP regional priority programs
  • Further research potential donors to gain insights into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position HFHI to donors

Management and capacity building (20%)

  • Supervise the involvement of external contractors (e.g., grant writers, interns, and/or FOI staff)
  • Manage budgeting, key performance indicators and metrics, and related processes. Create a professional environment in the AP region that encourages and supports a highly functional resource development team; support a culture of excellence and execution of best-in-class partnerships; foster environment of continuous improvement/knowledge sharing amongst global HFHI peers; apply learnings to identify and seek new funding opportunities

Reporting (10%)

  • Support grant reporting process in accordance with HFHIs global grant management protocols and structure to ensure reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion and in full compliance with the donor’s reporting standards. Collaborate with HFHI finance and legal departments to ensure grant agreements, acknowledgements and payments are processed on time and accurately
Educational Background: 
Bachelors Degree international relations, development management, social policy. business administration, non profit management
Skills/Experience: 
  • In accordance with HFHIs global standards, policies and protocols, develop and/or support and maintain all systems necessary for successful FOI fundraising in AP
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Programmatic and development experience in securing complex, six and seven figure multiyear grants preferably with top funders in the housing/shelter, community development, and international affairs/human service sectors
  • Ability to effectively work cross functionally and sell ideas internally
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent team building skills and eagerness to mentor growing team
  • Highly collaborative
  • Strong attention to detail/organizational skills
  • Adaptive and comfort navigating the unknown
  • Solutions-oriented with commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service
  • Ability to complete multiple projects concurrently while balancing competing priorities; ability to meet deadlines
  • Complex problem solving will require structured thinking
  • Computer literate, able to use word processing, spreadsheet, database and project software

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of BlackBaud Enterprise Constituent Relations Management preferred
  • Knowledge of Habitat’s worldwide mission preferred

Beneficial but not Required:

  • Masters Degree
