FHI360 is currency seeking candidates for a Gender and Gender-based Violence Specialist in Zambia.

The purpose of the USAID STOP GBV project is to build upon achievements under the prior STOP GBV projects in order to strengthen the environment for girls and women, boys and men, and members of key/priority populations, to live free of GBV and enjoy healthy and supportive, gender- equitable relationships.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and/or adapt training curriculum for educational programming related to prevention of gender-based violence;
  • Implement school-related gender-based violence programming and work closely with relevant ministry;
  • Develop training curriculum for health care providers to sensitize about GBV among general and key populations;
  • Train health care workers on protocols for providing services to survivors of various forms of GBV;
  • Strengthen the linkages between the community and health facility with referrals for survivors;
  • Conduct and/or support the Zambia GBV STOP II Gender Analysis at the beginning of the project, and follow up with a mid-term and end-line assessment;
  • Build capacity to advance gender equality through activities like: conducting gender trainings for all project staff, partners, ministry officials, CBOs/CSOs, and other stakeholders; mainstreaming gender in personnel management and practices to guide hiring, job descriptions, performance reviews; and hiring gender specialists;
  • Work closely with other project-based Technical Specialists;
  • Liaise closely with Senior Gender Advisor at FHI 360 headquarters
  • Utilize sex- and age- disaggregated data and disaggregate by population type wherever possible;
  • Develop and track specific gender-related indicators to measure progress toward gender equality;
  • Do No Harm by integrating risk mitigation tools in the Gender Strategy, mid- and end-line assessments, and work plans;
  • Ensure accountability and compliance to the FHI 360 Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Framework 2.0, and the USAID Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy.​
