As a member of the Corporate Partnerships team for Feeding America, lead new and existing business development within assigned geographic territory to meet corporate team revenue goals and continue to diversify donor and corporate sector support. Geographic territory within the Southwest Region includes Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. We require individuals to be based in one of the following three cities: Los Angeles, Houston or Dallas.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead, identify and develop new corporate relationships to support cause marketing campaigns, corporate philanthropic giving, employee engagement, in-kind support and other key initiatives to maximize awareness and revenue impact for the organization within assigned geographic region.
- Lead, manage and develop several existing donor relationships as assigned; and support the corporate partnerships department in meeting its annual revenue goal (approximately $80 million).
- Responsible for meeting individual revenue goal of $3 million and above annually.
- Conduct on-going analysis of prospects within assigned territory and refine new donor selection and cultivation process.
- Ensure strategic alignment with network of Feeding America food banks, development, food sourcing and other Feeding America departments on partner engagement strategies.
- Follow department's standard operating procedures for donor stewardship and relationship management.
- Achieve Feeding America brand objectives through new and existing corporate partnerships and the development of future campaign strategies.
- Represent business development function in planning meetings with new and developing partners.
Educational Background:
BA/BS or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 10 years senior level business development experience preferred (non-profit/for-profit).
- Significant experience in superior account management and developing and leading the execution of prospect management and cultivation.
- Strong negotiation skills based on a win-win philosophy and long-term partnership.
- Experienced and effective leader to motivate cross-functional teams; and to work across a broad range of diverse constituents including food bank members and all levels of corporate leadership.
- Detail orientation, strong organizational and project management skills including ability to meet deadlines and report progress against revenue goals and objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker and team player who is willing to both lead and exhibit a flexible and proactive attitude to completing necessary work assignments.
- Strong computer and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
