Manager, West Coast Special Events

This person will successfully plan and manage strategic events and meetings for high net worth individual donors and prospects along the west coast, setting the foundation and key moments for Save the Children’s Centennial Campaign. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinate and manage senior management trips to the west coast: work closely with local IPG staff, as well as relevant fundraisers across Resource Development, to secure and finalize strategic meetings along the west coast. Gather all relevant briefing information for the visiting staff member(s), consolidating and organizing these materials in advance. Support coordinators and assistants in planning trip itineraries. (20%)
  • Plan and execute a series of approximately 10-12 high-value stewardship and fundraising events annually, under the direction of frontline fundraisers in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. (70%)
  • Prepare post-event reports on event income, expenses, and donor participation (including post-event follow-up). Analyze trends and determine relevant strategies for subsequent events. (10%)
Educational Background: 
High School or Technical/Vocational Degree
Skills/Experience: 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in event planning
  • Background with not-profit organizations
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional presentation and demeanor that inspires confidence in prospects and donors
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in an ambiguous, highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to problem-solve and drive projects through to completion
  • Must be able to work from a dedicated home office
  • Up to 15% travel may be required (regional)
