We have an excellent opportunity for a PART-TIME CORPORATE MARKET DIRECTOR on the Heart Ball team in our Little Rock office supporting the Hot Springs Heart Ball campaign. The selected candidate will have sales responsibilities for the Hot Springs Heart Ball by bringing in new business and sustaining current partners for the campaign. We believe that individuals with strong and proven sales experience are the best suited for positions on our teams. This is a unique opportunity for individuals in sales to work for a worthy cause. Candidate will work with corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders and volunteers of the community to raise money for the fight against heart disease and stroke, the number #1 and #5 killers in America. OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL WORK 20 HOURS A WEEK SPENDING AT LEAST 15 HOURS A WEEK IN HOT SPRINGS SOLICITING BUSINESS AND FURTHERING THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION. The net sales goal for this event is approximately $200,000.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for fundraising for the mission of American Heart Association in Hot Springs, AR by making sales calls on new and existing customers and planning the celebratory event for our community impact through our black-tie gala: Heart Ball.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive and results-driven environment.
  • Ability to prospect, cultivate and close new business with cold calls.
  • Capacity to develop relationships with volunteers, sponsors and fellow staff.
  • Solicit sought-after silent auction offerings and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity live auction offerings to grow Heart Ball night-of-event revenue.
  • Develop sponsorship packages that incorporate mission activation within the community and sponsor’s company that benefit the health of our partners and their families.
  • Motivate individuals within philanthropic community to engage with the American Heart Association mission and create new ways to keep our Heart Ball event fresh and relevant.
  • Attract new people to our cause and drive loyalty to the mission.
  • Ability to work with volunteers to recruit up to 40 sophomore girls for the annual sweetheart program and coordinate this year-long program around the mission of the AHA. Engage the sweetheart parents in the AHA mission to get involved and stay involved with our mission.
  • Ability to anticipate community changes and position the AHA as a top priority for companies as they make decisions in what to support.
  • Unyielding commitment to follow through and achievement of goals.
  • Event management and logistics for Hot Springs Heart Ball event.
  • Networking within the local area to both help recruit and retain our valued volunteers.
Educational Background: 
achelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree
Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years’ experience equates to 1 full-time year of higher education
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have at least two years of experience in fundraising or outside sales in an environment requiring cold calls and new business development. This experience may also count toward satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • Ability to accomplish results through both strong volunteer relationships as well as personal activity. Must have a proven track record in meeting sales goals.
  • Organization, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multi task, and must also be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory in Central Arkansas up to 75% of their time. This includes going on meetings with potential donors as well as cold calling on prospects.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
