To provide girls and young women aged 15 to 24 with opportunities to improve their livelihood, while preventing and mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Facilitate all the AGYW related training sessions as stipulated in the Performance Framework
  • Training of PTA & SMC members to handle GBV cases, teachers' code of conduct and material development targeting 10 members per school
  • Conduct mapping of existing functional teen mother groups and in school girls clubs
  • Training of out of school girls peer educator on life skills
  • Refresher Training on Comprehensive Life Skills Education
  • Facilitate and support all BCC activities as stipulated in the BCC strategy
  • Produce monthly and quality reports as scheduled
Educational Background: 
Bachelors degree related to Education, Public Health or Project Management
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in health project/programs management; at least 2 years must be with registered NGO or INGO
  • Experience in relevant technical fields (education, public health, community development etc.)
  • Proven track record in coaching project implementation teams for successful execution of projects
  • Highly developed communication and group facilitation skills, including ability to deliver compelling presentations and facilitate learning
  • Experience managing highly risky projects/ grants with minimal supervision
  • Experience in managing AGYW related grants-desirable
  • Should have experience in working with youth programmes or demonstrate knowledge of youth challenges for him/her to be able to provide guidance to the field officer

Required knowledge, Skill and competencies:

  • Experience in capacity building for Government, NGO, and community structures
  • Ability to identify and compile appropriate resources and ‘tools’ for use by implementation teams
  • Proven ability to build effective networks and coordination with field partners from multiple technical sectors
  • Excellent command of written English with experience in donor reporting
  • Proven ability to write authoritative reports for publication and discussion
  • Ability to work without close supervision, i.e., must have initiatives, strong decision-making, problem solving and analytical thinking skills and abilities to follow procedure.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks and prioritize work in relation to needs and urgency.
  • Emotional stability and detail oriented.
  • Availability for travel and work outside the office
