The purpose of the position is to effectively manage and coordinate the implementation of Water Futures Program being funded by Climate Justice Fund. H/She will be providing technical leadership at NO level in water points and sanitation points mapping in collaboration with partners and communities

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Prepare and review project budgets, identify needs through the number of water and sanitation points available in the districts
  • Work hand in hand with the District Water Development Officer of respective districts in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation through the defined project implementation models
  • Facilitate implementation in the districts and ensuring quality and efficiency of the project at district level
  • Report progress to WASH TP Manager, Baseflow Team leader, University of Strathclyde
  • Work hand in hand with Baseflow in dealing with all technical issue of the project including acting on matters arising
  • Work hand in hand with Bawi Consultants in dealing with stakeholder meetings at district and national level
  • Monitor and report on progress against project indicators and outcomes and informing about progress and challenges on Monitoring and Reporting
  • Contribute to the writing of the project monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports.
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Attend and participate in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Educational Background: 
Degree in Water Resources Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Public Health.
Skills/Experience: 

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Experience: At least 3 years total experience in WASH programming
  • Project management and design experience, as well as project implementation and monitoring & evaluation.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with communities, local and international partners.
  • Excellent (written) documentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in data collection
  • Strong detail orientation, facilitation and negotiations skills
  • Leadership, people management and motivational skills
  • Previous experience in the ability to interact with government ministries and learn on required standards for programming and service delivery

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: 60% field based and 40% office based
  • Travel: 80%
