The Purpose of this position is to provide leadership and support to the Communications team to ensure a fully functional, well-focused and high-value performing function for quality service delivery, contributing to child well – being. At the same time, the position is central in Communicating World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrating a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • To manage the production and provision of high quality information resources and materials for donor and public engagement.
  • To ensure engagement of local and international media on WVM developmental programs to guarantee promotion and protection of its public image and ministry.
  • To manage the dissemination of internal and strategic information within National Office and the WV Partnership.
  • To manage communication’s emergency response and position WVM as a responsive relief agency.
  • To develop and implement a communications strategy for effective structuring, staffing and performance management.
  • To develop and implement marketing initiatives designed to increase the organization’s capacities to engage corporate donors and generate resources for its ministry priorities.
Educational Background: 
Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 years of experience in Communications/Public Relations/Marketing field
  • Should have experience working at senior management level (is preferred).

Required Competencies and Attributes:

  • Ability to lead and manage a team of communications professionals and facilitate their professional development
  • An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility
  • Ability to think and plan strategically to meet multiple deadlines
  • Must possess high level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in the English language (written and verbal)
  • Strong understanding of communications requirements of the WV partnership
  • Possess excellent public relations skills necessary in dealing with the media, donors and other stakeholders
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet and WVI databases
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Attend and lead in daily devotions and attend Chapel
  • Perform other duties as required.
