This position requires the physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The position requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses. The position requires the ability to grasp, reach, stoop, speak and listen. Employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 10 lbs. The normal work place will be in the administrative and ReStore offices, which are smoke-free and temperature controlled. Up to 10% of the work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, possibly outdoors or in warehouses.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Set and meet affiliate’s funding goals.
  • Direct the development and implementation of the affiliate’s Development and Marketing Plans.
  • Manage department staff
  • Development: provide program direction for fundraising, marketing and communications.
  • Retail: provide direction for ReStore operations and marketing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-level donors.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the affiliate’s community relationships.
  • Develop and manage the department budget.
  • Oversee full utilization of departmental database systems (donors, customers, volunteers).
  • Examine potential for ReStore centralization/regionalization.
  • Serve on affiliate’s Leadership Team.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Commitment to Habitat’s mission
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Minimum of four years of experience in non-profit management and advanced, high-level, fundraising and development
  • Experience in retail management (marketing or operations)
  • Energetic and self-directed, with effective time management and organizational skills including the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
  • Strong strategically-focused analytical skills
  • Capacity to lead and manage a team of staff members with diverse portfolios
  • Resilient and flexible
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Well-developed inter-personal and networking skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Innovative and creative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and use of donor database software
