Summary

The Specialist, Business Analysis supports the Director, Financial Reporting and Analytics in ensuring financial support to all USPA business lines and supports financial reporting and analysis needs.  S/he ensures that reports are developed in line with strategic and operational plans, and that all revisions are compiled, analyzed and calculated in an accurate and timely manner.  S/he will build capacity within all divisions in preparing and managing budgets and leading the completion of Agency financial analyses.  The Specialist will also support the Director in completing detailed financial analyses, modeling, and data mining, as assigned by leadership.

 

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

 

Planning, Reporting & Budgeting (35%): 

  • Support the annual planning and budgeting processes; accountable for operational excellence in budgeting.
  • Support budget revision process for divisions including: developing calendars, work plans, templates, providing training, and preparing financial and narrative documents for presentation to leadership.
  • Develop tools and guidance to manage the strategic initiative request process.  Analyzes and summarizes all projections and requests for management approval.
  • Support Finance Divisional planning and quarterly reporting process.

 

Financial Modeling & Forecasting (35%):

  • Support the development of multi-year revenue and expense budgets based on input from business lines. 
  • Support tools for analysis of projections and for forecasting to provide senior leadership with better information for decision making. 

 

Continuous Improvement (30%):

  • Review, assess and identify areas of improvement/change in agency budget policies/procedures
  • Conduct analyses to understand opportunities for efficiency with equipment, facilities, and other operational assets or processes
  • Develop and compile dashboards to demonstrate performance outcomes and trends
  • Support projects as a core or extended team member that improve finance and operations across the division

 

 Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 year's experience required.
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Requires a professional level of specialized knowledge, technical/functional skills and attention to detail to manage complex tasks, programs or projects.
  • In depth knowledge of financial planning and budgeting processes and financial reporting.  Proficient skills in the management of financial management systems. 
  • Experience in Finance business project management.
