Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) is seeking a qualified professional for its Fundraising/Development Manager position. The successful candidate will provide professional support to our Lawton, OK and Altus, OK branch locations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies
- Build and maintain relationships with donors or companies
- Develop and make presentations to potential donors
- Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors in a database
- Manage fundraising/development budget and ensure that organizational policies are followed and goals are met
- Manage donor accounts, provide regular reporting to donors on program progress and milestones
- Develop and organize fundraising campaigns and events
- Educate and raise awareness of the ASYMCA’s mission and work
- Some travel to include visits to ASYMCA Lawton, OK and ASYMCA Altus, OK branches
- Some occasional evening and weekend work required
Educational Background:
Bachelors degree
Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years experience in fundraising or equivalent experience in sales & marketing required
- Experience in law and accountancy a plus
- Proven track record of progressive fund development
- Knowledge of charity sector and cause area targeted a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience researching and developing funding strategies
- Working knowledge of donor data bases; Donor Perfect preferred
- Ability to successfully interact with people of diverse backgrounds
- Self-starter, must work independently as well as within teams
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent written, verbal and public presentation skills
- Proficient in software skills and with virtual tools
