Wounded Warrior Project’s (WWP) International Outreach Coordinator is responsible for assisting the WWP Alumni program’s efforts to provide support, networking opportunities, and education to new and existing warriors and their families around Germany, at military treatment facilities (MTFs), at military installations, and in local communities. Provides logistical and administrative support for WWP operations in Germany and assists in the maintenance of relationships with military commands, partners, third-party organizations and outreach to warriors, their families, and wounded warriors transitioning through Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Connect, serve, and empower the warriors, family support members and teammates in Germany and other foreign countries
  • Understand, contribute to, and promote the mission of WWP
  • Work directly with the wounded and their family members to assist with the recovery and transition process
  • Actively plan, coordinate, recruit, and execute opportunities for networking, camaraderie building, and family bonding for WWP Alumni and their family members
  • Locate warriors and their family members in Germany that have not yet had contact with WWP and introduce WWP’s programs and services
  • Assist the International Outreach Specialist in maintaining relationships with and supporting medical support personnel at LRMC, European Regional Medical Command (ERMC), and other foreign locations as may be necessary
  • Regularly communicate, network, mentor, and outreach to WWP Alumni and their family members in Germany as a designated WWP representative and refer them to appropriate programs, staff, and organizations as resources
  • Work closely with WWP purchasing coordinator to purchase and maintain appropriate inventory levels of WWP transitional care packages, comfort items, and other equipment inside a limited storage facility
  • Maintain accountability of all physical assets (owned or leased), storage areas, and supply inventories
  • Coordinate and work in partnership with American Red Cross personnel to provide programming and support of Alumni, Family Support Members, and military medical personnel and commands as set forth in the WWP-ARC Grant Agreement
  • Register eligible wounded warriors medically evacuated through LRMC with WWP and assist WWP teammate(s) in the distribution of comfort items to those warriors
  • Collect and ensure payment of all vendor invoices related to office space, equipment, and other physical assets and services required by the WWP Germany office
  • Gather information and prepare reports/presentations as requested
  • Monitor office supply inventory and equipment usage, ensuring proper stock of supplies and equipment adequately functioning
  • Post timely updates to all WWP electronic tracking systems, specifically the warrior database (Salesforce)
  • Assist Manager with assigned budgets while utilizing expense controls and seeking opportunities for Gift in Kind, and Discounts
  • Coordinate teammate and partner organization (ARC) schedules and update group calendar accordingly
  • Monitor office supply inventory and equipment usage, ensuring proper stock of supplies and equipment adequately functioning
  • Other related duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Associate’s degree required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to effectively speak in front of diverse crowds, proficient in public speaking
  • Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, personable and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups.
  • Familiarity with veteran and/or military benefits
  • Familiarity with military rank structure and organizational composition of each of the Armed Services
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals in military, outside organization, and key community roles
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team environment as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, work well under pressure, adapt to change, and complete required assignments in a timely fashion

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with military or veteran populations will be considered in lieu of the degree
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in relationship-building with military organizations, veterans associations, and other targeted constituents preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience using Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Preferred one (1) year experience at event planning preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with military treatment facilities/VA facilities and/or military medical separation/retirement process preferred

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid U.S. state driver's license required
  • Requires SOFA status
