The ReStore Lead Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving donations, keeping track of intake donations on the log and reporting to ReStore Manager each evening before clocking out with total number of drop offs and a value. Sorting intake areas and ensuring effective flow of donations from back room to sales floor daily – this includes décor and all large merchandise. The warehouse associate will also be responsible for maintaining a clean shopping environment to include all aspects of the ReStore. The warehouse associate will also be responsible for loading large items into customer’s vehicles and frequently moving large furniture items in the ReStore. 

The Lead Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for maintenance of the ReStore to include quarterly stripping and waxing of tile floors (possibly working some Mondays to accomplish), maintaining cleaning supplies and materials by alerting ReStore Manager when supplies are getting low. The Lead Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for maintaining lights in the ReStore in working order and performing electrical duties such as wiring and maintenance and installation of security cameras as needed. The Lead Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for maintaining the back of the ReStore by keeping all items cleaned and cleared daily-loading on trucks and taking to the landfill. The Lead Warehouse Associate should ensure the back of the ReStore is totally cleaned of all items daily before leaving for the day. The Lead Warehouse Associate will maintain the electrical side of the ReStore backroom including testing lighting, cleaning and pricing it for resale, maintaining and testing of all electrical appliances. The Lead Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for maintaining the workbench area including all tools, nails, screws, etc. by properly placing them in the appropriate tool boxes, nail drawers, etc. The Lead Warehouse Associate must be willing and able to assist on the box truck when necessary at all times.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized store in compliance with ReStore policies/procedures
  • Provide a positive, quality experience for customers, donors and volunteers
  • Understanding and commitment to the mission of HFHYC and the mission supporting role of the ReStore

Operational

  • Demonstrate outstanding service with customers, donors, volunteer, partner families and staff team members.

General store operations and volunteer utilization in coordination with ReStore Manager, ReStore Assistant Manager and ReStore Associates including:

  • Opening and closing of the ReStore for scheduled daily hours
  • Handling efficiently incoming donations – screening, receiving, sorting, cleaning, repairing, recycling and discarding – in compliance with ReStore policies and procedures
  • Load/unload all materials and deliver to appropriate area of ReStore
  • Displaying and organizing of showroom sales areas to ensure all items are properly priced and ticketed for sale
  • Ensuring sorting and receiving areas stay clean, organized and free from hazards
  • Completing daily/weekly task assignments and records
  • Assisting with maintenance of ReStore landscaping and keeping outside of building free from trash and other debris.
  • Maintain relationships with potential and existing donors, including individuals, businesses, community and church groups to increase quality and quantity of merchandise donations
  • Understand and effectively communicate the Habitat ReStore, local affiliate and HFH missions to members of the public
  • Effectively handle ReStore assets to ensure safety of employees, volunteers, customers, and donors

Reporting, Communications and Other Responsibilities

  • Information, work and safety practices are reinforced with Associates and others who will be in the facility and property
  • Keep ReStore Manager informed appropriately and timely of operational, safety and financial matters
  • Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledgeable of and committed to the mission of Habitat for Humanity of York County
  • Able to work with a diverse spectrum of people from a variety of faith, civic, business, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Ability to handle and defuse challenging situations with tact. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner with vendors, staff, board members, families, and anyone associated with the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity of York County
  • Able to manage confidential information with discretion and tact required
Compensation/Benefits: 
  • $13.50 effective__________________; Eligible for performance based increase (annually after July 2019)
