FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Training Quality Specialist for the USAID/Ukraine Economic Resilience Activity. The Training Quality Specialist will be based in Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, or Mariupol.
The purpose of the Ukraine Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) is to improve the overall economic resilience of Eastern Ukraine in response to Russian aggression, which has disrupted critical market linkages, catalyzed the economic decline of previously dominant industries, and caused massive population disruption. Resilience is “the ability of people, households, communities, countries, and systems to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from shocks and stresses in a manner that reduces chronic vulnerability and facilitates inclusive growth.” This activity aims to improve the economic resilience of eastern Ukraine through accomplishing the following objectives:
- Objective 1: Improve the Economic Growth Prospects of Eastern Ukraine
- Objective 2: Integrate and Link the Eastern Ukraine Economy into Ukrainian, European
Union (EU), and other international markets - Objective 3: Build Confidence in the Future of the Eastern Ukraine Economy
Reforming and supporting human capital resources in the region will be a key part of achieving Objective 1. FHI 360 will help workers in eastern Ukraine adapt old skills to new industries and develop new workers prepared for the industries that will drive the region’s future; facilitate partnerships between the universities, investors, and businesses to develop and deliver education and training appropriate to employers’ needs; assist selected universities to redirect programs and curricula to be more relevant to the long-term needs of the region; and work with informal education institutions, such as training centers, co-working spaces, and other vocational schools to align their curricula with the needs of the region.
- Quality control and supervision of interventions related to training and education. Ensuring that ERA training and education interventions achieve a high-quality standard in terms of delivery and content. Working with technical staff to survey and identify suitable training venues in both rural and urban locations
- Developing an inventory of private and non-profit training resources and venues, utilizing, as much as possible, state training and education facilities (lyceums, universities, community and village council spaces)
- Negotiating agreements with training venue providers
- Working with technical and workforce development staff to schedule training sessions with venues and beneficiaries
- Working with Objective 3 team lead to effectively publicize training activities to reach appropriate beneficiaries
- Helping determine the best delivery method for training Developing inventory and schedule of planned ERA training interventions Working with technical and workforce development staff to assess and inventory trainer availability and quality Working with grantees to ensure a high standard of training in terms of right content to right recipients, professional presentation, relevant resources including technologies and training materials
- Assisting with building of local training capacity by organizing training-of-trainers as needed For training interventions carried out in-house, assisting technical teams to design and deliver training
- Designing and implementing processes to support continuous improvement of training and education-related interventions
- Minimum of eight years of relevant experience;
- Strong knowledge of Ukraine’s socio-economic context;
- Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred;
- Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian; professional proficiency in English (fluency in English preferred);
- Ability to travel frequently between project field office locations and to other locations within eastern Ukraine;
- Must possess appropriate interpersonal skills to satisfy the requirements of the position.
