The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Associate in our Great Rivers Affiliate office located in Dayton, OH. The Associate will provide support for our Dayton social events (Go Red for Women and Heart Ball). The organized, enthusiastic, self-motivated Associate will support changing the lives of individuals in the area through these special events.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Perform donor/fundraiser data entry and generate donor/fundraiser reports
  • Provide support for the Heart Ball and Go Red events including sponsorship tracking, contract management, matching gifts and other donations
  • Assist Director in preparing for committee meetings as needed. Attend committee meetings and record minutes as needed. Arrange for meeting space, room set-up, meals, equipment, etc.
  • Perform financial coding and A/P and A/R work, including managing budget reports (use of IQ4bis & E1)
  • Oversee all logistics associated with Heart Ball and Go Red events
  • Act as a project manager to help provide administrative support to AHA’s signature fundraising event(s).
Educational Background: 
Two+ year degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 2 years of experience in an office setting as an administrative assistant or similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, desktop publishing and database tools.
  • Ability to complete administrative related tasks such as reviewing, responding to and typing letters, reviewing documents, manuals and other professional office correspondence.
  • Independent, self-motivated worker.
  • Analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Ability to prioritize and change direction quickly with tasks and projects.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of business professionals with strong customer focus.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when the job requires.
  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned.
