The National Director (ND) strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision’s ministry in Nepal, ensure the overall management of WVIN operation, need to be an effective leader locally and effective member of the partnership, acting as a local and global representative of the organization. The ND led the team to achieve the country strategies for effective operations, and lead and implements directional shifts of the organization. Ensure the country’s operations maintain the Partnership’s focus on Child Well Being Outcomes and Aspirations, as they apply in that specific context, maximizing the impact in the field.
The ND collaborates effectively with other Partnership Offices and divisions to achieve local and organizational goals, and externally foster collaboration with major donors, project partners, local Government, Church representatives and non-governmental organizations, serving according to given Power of Attorney, in doing so, the ND will maximise stewardship, effectiveness of cost and appropriate operating models.
The ND will model high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity through lifestyle and work relationships to be fine exemplar of the organization Christian faith based. Vision, Mission and WV Core Values.
- Proven work experience in development sector and/or humanitarian context, especially with program and/or country program management and staff management.
- Strong leadership and staff management skills, with a record of managing large, diverse teams and contributing to the capacity building of national and international staff.
- A demonstrated and solid track record in managing effective programmes and field operations work from a World Vision context preferably.
- Experience to establish, develop and maintain excellent working relations with the Government and ability to strengthen relationships with local organizations and networks and alliances with partners.
- Experience with projects designing and strategic planning, A deep and broad understanding of business operations within World Vision is preferred.
- Demonstrated track record in resource development including proposal development, creating and managing donor relations, and grant management for major government donors preferred.
- Experience in Emergency response, planning, and develop of emergency response plans and programmes would be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity; ability to strengthening relationships with Government and donors.
- Knowledge/experience of the region and understanding of local context in Nepal is a significant advantage.
- Mature, well-balanced personality able to work independently in a challenging environment.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation and administrative abilities.
- A high ability in interpersonal skills with sound experience and ability to function well in a cross cultural environment.
