Omugo Multi Sector Project Manager

Coordinates all aspects of the Omugo Multi sector phase 2 project as per key project documents, aligned to WVU NO strategy, technical approaches and technical programs, as well as the West Nile Response strategy. The job-holder will work closely with sector specialists, project partners and program officers to ensure effective implementation and reporting of all the project components.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Project management

  • Provide leadership on the strategic planning and management of the project as per the approved project design document. This will include:
  • Lead the creation of project detailed implementation plans (DIP), procurement plans and cash flow forecast to facilitate smooth implementation of the project
  • Work with sector technical staff and project partners to develop and roll out project specific initiatives e.g. training, consultancy, publications , campaigns and other awareness activities
  • Work closely with the child protection facilitators to ensure effective implementation of the integrated Child Friendly space and case management components of the project
  • Work closely with the livelihood team to ensure effective implementation of the environmental management initiative including the farmer managed natural regeneration component
  • Lead on management of project finances including authorizing transactions, review of finance and audit report for compliance and completeness.

Research and Innovations

  • Work with the identified partners to ensure effective implementation, documentation and dissemination of the various innovations that are part of the Omugo Multi Sector phase 2 project

Human resource management

  • In collaboration with WVU People and Culture Team, lead on hiring, supervision motivation and retention of the project staff, while upholding staff discipline and values of the organization.
  • Cultivate a positive team working environment through staff coaching, mentorship and regular support to ensure all staff development issues are attended to ; ensure the administration of effective reward management systems according to World Vision P&C policies
  • Asses and identify staff development needs and advise management accordingly

Build partnerships, networks and collaborations for effective participation in project activities, joint policy engagements and campaigns as well as fostering mutual accountability, in the best interest of children.

  • Coordinate mapping out sector aligned partnerships, networks and collaborations in both refugee settlements and host communities.
  • Support processes of building collaborative relationships with Local Governments, Office of the Prime Minister and well as coalitions with other actors, in close consultation with the Response Team and the National level sector leads.
  • Represent the organization well in key engagement forums aligned to the project goal

Resource mobilization and financial management

  • In collaboration with the GAM team, coordinate resource mobilization, through proposal writing to ensure scale up of project interventions
  • Support information collation, other preparation for stakeholder and donor engagement

Monitoring, learning, reporting and documentation of impact stories for wider sharing

  • Work with the communications team to develop and publish stories of most significant change and case studies for wider dissemination.
  • Compile and submit quality progress reports, monthly, semi-annually and annually.
  • Coordinate regular reviews and reflections on progress of the project
  • Support the M&E function to harmonize indicators, periodic data collection, analysis and reporting. This will include planning and execution of mid-term reviews and impact assessment as may be required.
  • Facilitate publication, launch and dissemination of products from reviews and impact assessments.
Educational Background: 
Degree in Humanitarian related Discipline /Masters in a relevant field of study is preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Has minimum of 5 years NGO work, experience implementing multi-sectorial grants at middle management or senior management level in an INGO.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a facilitative and participative approach.
  • Must have strong advocacy and communication skills
  • Should have strong collaboration and networking skills
  • Strong coordination and team building skills
  • Good writing and documentation skills.
