Reporting to the Program Management Specialist-MNCH, Nutrition & Small groups, the Officer will strengthen the implementation of Family health services at the USAID/HIWA supported health facilities in collaboration with the regional coordinators and the health facility staff.
Areas of Responsibility:
- To oversee the implementation and scale up of Community based family planning program in the USAID HIWA supported communities in UPF, PSG, UWA and Hotels
- To ensure the MNCH services are provided in accordance to MOH standards and protocols at the selected health facilities
- To provide continuous medical education of MNCH and family planning to the service providers at the selected facilities
- To implement strategies for improving male involvement and adolescents in SRH programs at selected health facilities and communities
- To improve documentation and reporting of MNCH and family planning activities at facility level for program evaluation and planning
Educational Background:
A diploma or degree in midwifery, comprehensive nursing and or nursing.
Skills/Experience:
- At least two years’ experience in service delivery and health system strengthening for family health services
- Training in Sayana press and Implanon NXT is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages for report writing and presentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain relationships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Ability to multi-task
