In close collaboration with the Security and Logistics Manager, the Field Operations Officer of The Goldozi Project will be responsible for day-to-day logistical planning for Goldozi staff, including within Kabul and field visits to provinces, where The Goldozi Project is being implemented through local implementing partners. He/she will report to the Security and Logistics Manager and work performance will be frequently monitored to ensure smooth functioning of all logistics responsibilities.
- Assist Security and Logistics Manager in conducting risk assessments in targeted areas.
- Coordinate with Security and Logistics Manager to recommend and develop solutions to logistics and security related issues.
- Assist Security and Logistics Manager in providing security briefings and trainings to all Goldozi staff as needed.
- Ensure daily monitoring and assessment of routes for staff movements in the city.
- Ensure and oversee provision of efficient logistical support to all staff and visitors including local transportation and provincial reconnaissance, transport, and accommodation.
- Follow up on Goldozi vehicle maintenance, ensure all services are done on time and all paperwork is properly filed.
- Ensure all vehicles have the minimum standard tools and first aid kits.
- Verify that logbooks are filled in appropriately by drivers.
- Ensure that all vehicles are fitted with the proper spare parts and for minor services that Goldozi has the spare parts in stock.
- Ensure refuel of the Goldozi vehicles in collaboration with the drivers.
- Identify and recognize problems that have established procedures and refer questions and problems to the Security and Logistics Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Three years of experience providing operations, logistics, and security support in a medium to large organization.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- A willingness to increase knowledge and update skills as required.
- Ability to handle oral and written communications independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of staff
- Demonstrated ability to successfully participate in meetings with all levels of leadership, including senior management teams that provide leadership and strategic direction
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities for self and manage time to achieve goals / complete projects on or ahead of due date.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
- Ability to use Personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand-held devices.
