The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a MISSION: LIFELINE SSEEOCOORDINATOR (NORTH DAKOTA) in our Midwest Affiliate office located in JAMESTOWN, ND. The Mission: Lifeline SSEEO Coordinator
will be responsible for the coordination, development, and implementation of a 2 year grant funded Mission: Lifeline Stroke SSEEO program in the state of North Dakota. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Quality & Systems Improvement and in close collaboration with the Director Mission: Lifeline Stroke ND, RVP of Advocacy in ND, and the Midwest VP of Quality and System Improvement the SSEEO Coordinator is responsible for managing an assigned group of hospitals; to recruit new and retain current volunteers and solicit program support from hospitals to participate in the ND Mission: Lifeline Stroke SSEEO program.
Over the next 2 years we will adapt and integrate the STROKE SURVIVOR 2 SURVIVOR (SS2S) program network in ND. The telephone-based support program is a valuable tool to reach a rapidly growing population of stroke survivors and caregivers with support, guidance and important resources. By participating in this program, hospitals are offered an excellent opportunity to invest in a one-of-a-kind initiative which provides valuable support and resources for both the patient and the institution.
- Attend SSEEO training
- Convene and facilitate quarterly ND M:L Stroke SSEEO workgroup meetings (Identify healthcare staff for implementation e.g. stroke coordinator, physical therapist or CVA committee)
- Educate clinicians across ND including nursing, therapies and other ancillary staff about the ND SSEEO program
- Collaborate with SS2S board members and volunteers and liaise between the ND M:L SSEEO workgroup and the national SS2S program
- Collaborate with IL SSEEO program manager
- Develop an evaluation plan for SS2S program effectiveness in coordination with the Center for Evaluation and Health Metrics Staff
- Recruit volunteer champions and secure 3 year program commitments at each hospital in ND
- Assist with onboarding and initial training of at least 2-4 stroke survivors and/or caregivers for SS2S call-backs at each hospital location
- Adapt and/or develop and provide training resources tools for both the volunteers and hospital staff about the program and implementation
- Participate in hospital stroke support group meetings and SS2S conference calls as needed
- Plan and execute annual regionalized ND SSEEO events in collaboration with the ND M:L Stroke Director
- Provide regular program updates as needed monthly, quarterly and annually that communicate the reach and effectiveness of ND M:L SS2S program to the ND M:L Stroke grant administrator and ND M:L Stroke Taskforce.
- Plan all logistics for ND M:L Stroke Conference, Workshops, and Meetings in co-ordination with the ND M:L Stroke Director. This includes venue contract, event logistics activities such as: co-ordination of RSVP’s, invitations, brochures, food and beverage, table set-up, and other logistical requirements for the workshop. Also prepares attendee and faculty materials.
- Create and update various materials including but not limited to flyers, correspondence (thank you letters, RSVP, etc), handouts, signage, reports, etc. This may include researching and updating data regarding event location, staff changes, new medical research facts, etc.
- Promote, synthesize, and communicate Stroke Survivor Stories
- Acuity in quality improvement, hospital experience preferred
- Knowledge of voluntary health organizations or nonprofit organizations
- Exceptional oral and written communications Can easily adapt to working with Hospitals, Patients, C-Suite players, multi-disciplinary teams, Coordinators, and State Health Department’s
- Intellectual flexibility and the ability to learn and apply new skills
- Familiarity with strategic planning and budgeting
- Education and/or project management experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
- Will be able to adapt to understanding the role of Quality Improvement in the federal, state and local legislative
- Must be proficient in Microsoft
- Stroke specific knowledge preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
