The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Foundations Coordinator collaborates with the WWP Foundations team to pursue and secure grant funding from foundations, corporations, and other supporters through a grant vehicle.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist WWP Foundations team to research, identify, and track grantmakers and foundations.
  • Collaborate and work effectively with WWP teammates to identify and develop additional opportunities.
  • Navigate online grant applications and write grant proposals.
  • Develop relationships with foundations by providing requested information and marketing materials, and by providing updates throughout the year.
  • Ensure highest quality interaction with grantmakers.
  • Process general requests for paperwork from prospective grantmakers and other donors via phone, email, and web requests.
  • Provide administrative support to the Foundations team and assist with communications planning. Schedule meetings, provide information to interested grantmakers, compose correspondence, respond to emails.
  • Prepare presentations.
  • Collect data and information and assist to prepare reports.
  • Input and track data via relationship management database,
  • Assist Foundations team to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support Foundations team with projects that drive foundation revenue.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Working understanding of foundations and grantmakers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively research grants and write grants proposals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with grantmakers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal teammates and external
  • High energy level, self-starter, and willing to take initiative.
  • Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.
  • Mission-driven, guided by core values, and a pleasure to work with.
  • Two years of experience working in a non-profit business development or fundraising environment.

Preferences

  • Two years of experience researching and writing grant proposals.
