ReStore Manager

Our ReStore’s mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated and reclaimed building materials and related household articles to support the activities of Houston Habitat for Humanity. We are opening a second ReStore located at Hwy 290 & 34th, Houston, TX.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintain good working relationships with donors, suppliers, customers, homeowners, volunteers and CS (Community Service) workers.
  • Formally represent the HHFH ReStore at public and community events and/or social and organizational functions in conjunction with HHFH.
  • Support the organization’s mission, vision and values.
  • Solicit ReStore donations as well as research equitable pricing to product values.
  • Have a solid understanding of Houston’s hardware/building retail market.
  • Possess marketing and sales abilities to promote the ReStore.
  • Create, review, and analyze monthly reports on sales actives, expenses and progress on current and prospective projects.
  • Keep ReStore Director abreast of ReStore activities and endeavors.
  • Facilitate a positive team oriented environment – giving employees and volunteers the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Be responsible for overall management of the ReStore’s personnel, warehouse and inventory.
Educational Background: 
Four years of experience in a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • You’re interested in a meaningful job at one of the most recognizable non-profits in Houston.
  • You want to sell products that help support HHFH’s mission to build homes for low income families.
  • You want to provide efficient and effective day to day operations of the ReStore to optimize sales revenue.
  • You’ve been responsible for providing excellent customer service.
  • You understand market trends and customer demands.
  • You like managing, training and encouraging a winning team.
  • You’ve been told (more than once) that you’re scrappy, a progressive, roll-up-the-sleeves, get stuff done type of person that is organized, honest and thoughtful.

What we’re looking for…

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite and POS (Point of Sale) skill set.
  • A sense of community service and helping others.
  • Well organized, a good task manager, and ability to prioritize based on business needs.
  • You absolutely have to be dependable.
  • Someone who is able to meet the physical demands of a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lead, supervise and direct employees and volunteers in a positive and affirming manner.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferable.
