Coordinator, Psychosocial Support Programs

The Coordinator is essential for the growth and stability of the child-focused psychosocial programming initiative. They will be responsible for connecting trained Journey of Hope (JoH) Facilitators with individual sites for implementation as well as supporting scheduling of implementations. This position provides all support for trainings including creating schedules, meeting space and materials. The coordinator will work closely with the rest of the Harvey recovery team in development of external partners and to ensure efficient and smooth operations. The coordinator communicates with external partners to obtain training registrations and to assist with data collection. The coordinator also communicates internally with the PSS TX team to ensure partners are given the necessary support

Areas of Responsibility: 

Assist with implementation of Texas Psychosocial Support Programs (45%)

  • Assist with building and maintaining relationships with schools, partners and state contacts.
  • Train and manage community partners to promote Harvey Recovery efforts in Texas
  • Connect trained JoH Facilitators with individual sites for implementation as well as support the scheduling of implementations
  • Order, assemble, and distribute additional Program Kit materials to partners as needed.
  • Coordinate Program trainings and facilitate logistics for successful events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Specialist

Assist with data for Texas Psychosocial Support Programs (30%)

  • Prepare or provide material for accurate reports for internal and external purposes
  • Identify and gather quality multimedia assets and testimonials for promotion.
  • Help coordinate periodic reporting. Assist in collection and recording of beneficiary counts and evaluations from partners on a monthly basis.
  • Work with the project team to assist in the implementation of the program evaluation plan.
  • Compile and input Program Pre- and Post-tests.
  • Track and report Program expenses.

Operational Support (20%)

  • Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed material orders, etc.
  • Plan and track the shipment of final products according to facilitator requirements
  • Promote, plan and execute programs and activities (booths, assemblies, and corporate engagement events), providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings/communications among project team members, and training day activities with staff, implementation
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the program as required to ensure the smooth running of the program, to include such things as travel and hotel arrangements, ordering of office supplies and equipment, and arranging events and collaborative meetings as needed.

Liaise with the Psychosocial Support and Protection Team within US Programs (5%)

  • Participate in related meeting and conference calls to support the recovery programming efforts
  • Assist in providing input to their function’s strategic and operational plan
Educational Background: 
High School or Technical/Vocational Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in area of expertise
  • Knowledge and technical skills to support semi-complex tasks
  • A professional level of specialized knowledge, technical/functional skills and attention to detail to manage complex tasks, programs or projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some credits toward Bachelor’s degree in public health, early education, counseling, mental health, psychology, social work, or related field
  • Experience with Save the Children systems and policies
  • Spanish language skills preferred
  • Demonstrated to work effectively with diverse levels of individuals and coordinate with many different agencies/organizations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience preferred with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
