Coordinator, Emergency Finance--Hurricane Harvey Response

Partner Management (40%)

  • Complete partner pre-screening process by obtaining necessary documentation and completing a financial pre-award survey
  • Set-up and track partners in agresso system
  • Assist local partners with budget building process
  • Coordinate partner agreement process through communications with Associate Director, Emergency Response, Finance and Operations, Deputy Team Lead, Programs, and local partner
  • Maintain partner file
  • Complete financial partner report reviews
  • Assist with financial monitoring as needed

Accounting (40%)

  • Collect and track all financial receipts made on Save the Children credit cards and staff personal credit cards including, but not limited to, volunteer per diems, P.O. invoices, car rentals, warehouse agreements, or hotel receipts
  • Reconcile credit cards in the Wells Fargo system
  • Deposit field cash donations
  • Submit accurately coded invoices to accounts payable department
  • Review/reconcile Gift-in-Kind expense paperwork and submit to Specialist, Procurement & Logistics

Staff Support (10%)

  • Provide support to staff for travel, expense reimbursements, invoice payments, and check requests
  • Re-class timesheets as needed

Other Projects, as required (10%)

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of finance, accounting or related business experience, including experience working with grants/contracts
  • Experience working on emergency response or humanitarian relief efforts preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to apply creative ideas for data compilations 
  • Ability to work with staff at various levels, and to demonstrate the importance of upholding financial policies and procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • A creative, self-starter who has the ability to support multiple stakeholders by providing sound financial data and guidance
