Sales/Development Vice President

This Development Vice President position is responsible for leading a field territory throughout Eastern and Northeast Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lehigh Valley, Lebanon, York, Northeast PA) to achieve annual revenue goals currently at $3.5 million. These dollars are primarily raised through special event fundraisers including Heart Walk, Heart Ball and Go Red for Women. These events are utilized as vehicles for engaging corporations, teams and individuals in charitable giving and heart-healthy living.

Additional revenue generation opportunities exist in Major Gifts, Workplace Giving, and Corporate Relations. VP inspires, trains, motivates and empowers volunteers and the staff throughout the territory in cause-based fundraising and is personally responsible for generating business, managing accounts, creating proposals, soliciting donations, overseeing event logistics, and ensuring goals are successfully achieved. This executive is responsible for ensuring the recruitment and engagement of leadership volunteers and providing partnership and leadership to ensuring strong collaboration and outcomes.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
Skills/Experience: 

The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented, inspiring and visionary leader, ability to manage details amongst many events, and a road warrior with demonstrated success in achievement of aggressive goals and success developing staff members to achieve their full potential.

  • Five years of experience in outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.
  • Three years of experience in a management capacity. Experience gained through direct internal work on AHA projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience managing or serving on a high functioning fundraising board.
  • Communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, networking and organizational skills with the capacity to manage details.
  • Ability to travel throughout five-state region and to national meetings. Expected overnight travel of up to five nights/quarter.
  • Holds a valid drivers’ license.
