World Vision Somaliland Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somaliland Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Hargeisa Office.

The position holder will contribute to the implementation of effective and accountable financial and asset control systems. With the assistance of the Finance and Support Service Manager, the position holder will implement planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms which contribute to effective and accountable programs. The incumbent will provide technical backstopping to program teams, promoting adherence to World Vision’s Field Finance Manuel for a host of routine financial transactions. With the assistance of FSS Manager, the incumbent will promote awareness of Finance and Support Service Manuel with staff members and implementing partners.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Promote awareness of World Vision policy and procedure;
  • With the assistance of FSS Manager, facilitate day-to-day finance transactions;
  • Maintain and analyze various finance/assets tracking tools, providing updates to FSS Manager as required;
  • Providing technical back-stopping to programs teams in the preparation of various finance documents;
  • Support in the preparation and updating of various budget planning documents;
  • Analyze existing practice and advise on improvements
  • Other relevant tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounts.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
  • Must promote Finance policy and procedure, must “walk the talk” in terms of accountability
  • Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Experience: At least 2/3 years’ experience in related field;
  • Experience with World Vision 2 to 4 years;
  • Ability to articulate in written and spoken English fluently;
  • Ability to present financial data in a clear and coherent manner

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.
  • On call: Immediately.
