The Construction Site Leader will oversee and supervise volunteer construction at each location and recruit and manage group builds such as Collegiate Challenge and other mission trips, which will include multiple builds.

- Prior construction experience and knowledge of building to code is helpful. Experience leading volunteers is required; experience leading volunteers on a Habitat for Humanity worksite or similar volunteer-driven building program preferred.

- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Extensive knowledge of residential construction.
- Knowledge of building code requirements.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Desire to teach construction and safety techniques.
- Patience; ability to lead and include people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
- Energy and enthusiasm; ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to perform physical work, which will include standing for long periods of time, working at heights up to 30 feet, and working outside in inclement weather.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Possession of a current driver’s license in good standing.
- Proficiency with email communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Work with Construction Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Crew Leaders to engage volunteers in completing SCHFH’s construction goals.
On-Site Leadership:
- Recruit and manage volunteer groups including Collegiate Challenge and Youth Summer groups. Coordinate housing and interaction between groups and construction and repair to assure a productive service experience.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for volunteers and partner family members; run a work site that reflects the values of Habitat for Humanity. Lead or assign morning reflections and safety orientations.
- Help volunteers stay engaged on the build site; assist crew leaders leading small groups
- Work with Construction Manager to develop and implement volunteer training.
- Ensure that safe construction practices are followed at all times.
- Ensure that all materials are properly stored and used with minimal waste.
Additional AmeriCorps Requirements:
- Attend State and Delaware Habitat for Humanity Training and Orientation programs and events.
- The training and events include but are not limited to the events on the Delaware National Service Event an Training Calendar
- Training and events include training and team build events provided by the Delaware Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps program.
- Preparing and providing monthly reports to the Programs Manager on AmeriCorps service.
