The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is looking for an innovative leader to join the team and support the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  The Director of Major Gifts will work in collaboration with the entire Development team to foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization.  The ideal candidate will provide leadership and creative input in developing and implementing Association wide fundraising efforts, as well as provide on-going development related trainings to support Association and Branch fundraising.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage a portfolio of Major Gift prospects for the association.
  • Work collaboratively with Association Leadership (CDO, COO, CEO), Board of Director volunteer leadership and Branch Leadership to provide strategy, timeline and case for major gift cultivation, stewardship and solicitation.
  • Work with CDO to coordinate, plan and implement a successful Annual Campaign for Metropolitan Board of Directors.
  • Provide direct support to assigned Executive Directors and their respective branch annual giving initiatives, meeting regularly with each to encourage intentional year-round strategy, planning and implementation of donor appreciation, stewardship, cultivation and solicitation.
  • Work collaboratively with cohort of branches to develop portfolios and community based strategies for fundraising to support significant growth, retention and stewardship of Annual Campaign supporters in their communities.
  • Where applicable, manage Branch-specific Major Gift relationships.
  • Support the implementation of the moves-management process, the maintenance of accurate up-to-date records and tracking and developing comprehensive giving strategies.
  • Represent the Y Development Team in various branch and volunteer meetings to support and communicate philanthropic messages and programming efforts within the organization.
  • Provide leadership for training along with technical assistance to support staff and volunteer leadership in furthering a culture of philanthropy within the YMCA.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five years of development experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment with proven success in major gift work. 
  • Minimum of three or more years of leadership/supervisory experience with the ability to manage, motivate and develop individuals and teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building social and business functions for effective partnerships and collaborations. 
  • The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner by building strong relationships with leaders in a wide variety of organizations in the community. 
  • A demonstrated track record of setting and meeting/exceeding specific fundraising goals within the expected time period. 
  • This leader will need superior verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to adapt communication to the appropriate audience. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $62,000.00 - $67,000.00
