The Specialist, Application Support is part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting Save the Children’s portfolio of best-in-class technology applications. As part of this team, the Specialist, Application Support will be responsible for ensuring functionality of mission-critical applications (including CRM, child management systems, financial systems, and web-based applications). Strong collaboration with IT colleagues, agency business units, and external vendors will be critical to the success of this position.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serves as a key resource in the IT department, providing support and expertise to business staff and external vendors on the utilization of the agency’s CRM, financial, child management, and website applications. Responsibilities include: troubleshooting, testing system issues, identifying and documenting solutions, as well as shared responsibility within IT for integration and management of donor, child, and financial data between systems. Collaborates closely with both IT colleagues and software vendors in delivering systematic and process-based solutions. 50%
  • Monitors the agency website, ensuring that all critical functions can be performed. This includes the building and maintenance of monitoring scripts, management of monitoring tools and the vendor relationship, and reporting of performance and metrics to agency stakeholders.   20%
  • Delivers critical system reports and files to agency business units and external vendors. 20%
  • Participates in and implements critical system upgrades, drafting test cases, and testing critical processes. Performs other duties as may be required. 10%
Educational Background: 
High School or Technical/Vocational Degree. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in system support.
  • Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule for system down issues and occasional after-hours responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, organize workloads and assignments as well as disciplined time management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to problem solve independently and adjust to changing priorities quickly.
  • Experience with CRM technologies.
  • Experience with financial, fundraising, sponsorship and donor management a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and hands-on experience and knowledge of various reporting and query tools.
  • Must demonstrate significant level of patience providing support in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong work ethic. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in support of applications including Web, CRM and/or Financial systems as well as systems support management.
