The Senior Director of Marketing Strategy, Financial Planning, & Analytics for Marketing Communications & Fundraising division (MCF) is a key position on the MCF Extended Senior Leadership Team (ESMT) responsible for overseeing the business, financial and operational management of the Strategic & Financial Plan and ensuring the path to success is clear with the key marketing/operations stakeholders. Success will help the division achieve and drive overall division undesignated revenue growth, essential to the agency’s health
Areas of Responsibility:
OPERATIONAL/ANALYTICAL 60%
- Partner with Associate Vice President (AVP) and other MCF leaders to plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process, reforecasts and long-term strategic plans, ensuring all business assumptions are grounded in appropriate historical results and informed by Save the Children US (SCUS) and Save the Children International (SCI) global benchmarking as appropriate.
- Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of donor management policies, internal controls, analytical standards and financial modeling procedures.
- Ensure that MCF is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports as required, including regular updates for senior leaders.
- Provide analytical insight/support to MCF’s internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities and regular tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Serve as key liaison with SCI global benchmarking team to ensure accuracy of SCUS information and comparability with global peers.
- Develop a tool for business modeling in partnership with SCI Member Growth team, Finance and MCF staff.
- Provide oversight of all SCUS modeling and benchmarking work with Target Analytics, Integral Services, and other external service providers as necessary.
- Ownership of MCF team dashboard, agency quarterly reports and other MCF strategic performance communications.
- Partner with Finance on all financial planning/reporting needs.
- Partner with digital marketing team to ensure consistent/aligned financial update and reporting needs.
- Partner with MCF ESMT members on retreat agendas as required.
STRATEGY/VISION 30%
- Advise the AVP and other key members of MCF leadership on financial planning, budgeting, investment shifts, operational and supporter goals/objectives
- Develop and enhance data-driven integrated analytics and customer insights including attribution initiative.
- Effectively communicate and present critical KPI, strategic investment and overall performance results for MCF.
- Develop, update and maintain long-term business models, working with all key members of MCF staff to ensure accuracy of future out-year assumptions.
- Contribute to the development of MCF strategic goals and objectives as well as overall plan management.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the MCF CMO and AVPs informed of all critical issues.
- Partner with direct AVP to evaluate and develop business models for new business investment opportunities.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT/LEADERSHIP 10%
- Support and promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.
- Monitor and oversee compilation of staff budgets, forecasts, and long-term growth plans.
- Work with direct AVP to develop staff accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor/evaluate performance.
Educational Background:
Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of related experience.
- Strong general management skills in marketing, modeling, finance, operations, analytics/insights and business development.
- Proven experience in understanding modeling, analyses, insights, and KPIs.
- A high level of proficiency in Excel and other financial/analytical tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in direct to consumer subscription-based models/programs.
