Associate Director, Research, Planning and Insights

This position provides strategically significant supporter research and analyses to support SCUS strategy, develops a consistent approach to our data, reports on fundraising performance, and provides insights to key stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as a thought leader and active participant on all MCF research projects.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Strategic Projects (55%)

  • Lead strategically meaningful research projects via third party research providers, BBEC data mining, etc. to support MCF strategy including demographic personas. Also responsible for leading Marketing Brand Tracker, annual Donor Satisfaction Survey, donor database analysis and recommendations, website traffic review and platform building to capture and analyze visitor feedback

Research Leadership & Development (20%)

  • Serve as MCF’s and SCUS’s designated representative for research needs and leading key relationships, such as Epsilon, Qualtrics, Target Analytics, Harris Insights, and Marketing Workshop
  • Proactively pursue new supplier relationships to fill in knowledge gaps
  • Maintain Research Hub for all members of MCF

Reporting Requests/Professional Development (25%)

  • Deliver Pertinent Dashboard data to support CMO
  • Provide formal quarterly retention reporting to Canvassing, DRTV and Affiliate Marketing Teams
  • Provide monthly reporting updates on overall performance to acquisition and retention teams
  • Support the acquisition and retention teams via one off reporting on strategic initiatives
  • Attend industry-related conferences and webinars to expand knowledge base, develop relationships and uncover potential innovations
  • Perform other duties as may be required
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in area of expertise 
  • Strong level of technical and/ or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to lead a unit or team, or provide the technical advice, guidance and direction related to various size programs and grants
