The Sr. Specialist, Project Manager will be responsible for leading large complex enterprise technology projects that may include cross-divisional participation and cross-functional technology tools. The Project Manager will provide overall leadership to assigned projects adhering to standard project management methodology, complying with project lifecycle deliverables and best practice guidelines and Save the Children protocols. Projects will have a primary focus supporting technology initiatives that support Fundraising, Sponsorship, Digital, Marketing, and/or Finance business initiatives.
- Adhere to standard project management methodology, complying with project lifecycle deliverables, Project Management and Save the Children established best practices. (25%)
- Leverage MS Project to develop comprehensive effort driven project plan and schedule; advising on strategic business direction and consequences of action/inaction. Work closely with project team building schedules as to accurately depict the effort and sequencing of project tasks and milestones. (5%)
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the project according to project plan and schedule. Monitor progress throughout to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds business expectations. (10%)
- Mobilize resources to launch and execute the project in accordance with standard project framework. (5%)
- Define team member roles and expectations; ensure that project resources receive necessary training and are utilized effectively. (5%)
- Ensure that all project requirements and solutions are clearly defined and tested; obtain approval from project sponsor(s) at defined stage gates. (5%)
- Communicate progress and obtain buy-in from impacted stakeholders for all key project deliverables, plans, and changes. (5%)
- Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks - make adjustments as necessary reporting status and gaining buy-in from project Sponsor and Steering Committee as appropriate. (5%)
- Ensure that all requirements, project plans, project changes, and defined project reports are communicated to all affected team members. (5%)
- Review and manage all changes to requirements and/or solution through a formal change control process. (5%)
- Manage relationships with all vendors; monitor their progress and adherence to the contract. (5%)
- Manage project risks and resolves issues; escalate to AVP of Portfolio and Project Steering Committee, as required, for resolution. (5%)
- Provide quality checks on all aspects of the project and deliverables reporting on these at each gateway milestone to ensure that the end product fulfills the project objectives. (5%)
- Ensure timely project reporting and communication through weekly team meetings and steering committee meeting updates, and other defined communication tools. (10%)
- 5-7 years related business, technology, and project experience.
- PMP Certification and/or proven and demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise projects
- Skilled in Microsoft Project
- Very strong leadership skills; able to make independent decisions quickly and effectively with the ability to determine impact on project.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills sufficient to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and staff through all levels of the Organization
- Strong interpersonal skills to augment a close working relationship with the core team members, business partners, and vendors.
- Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well within tight timelines
- Must be self-directed and results-driven with a strong customer focus
- Very strong organizational skills .
