The Sr. Specialist, Web Developer is responsible for the integrity of their code and will follow application programming standards established by Save the Children/US. This position requires a breadth of application development knowledge, including experience with Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML.
The Sr. Specialist, Web Developer is expected to participate in the collective efforts in moving the IT Business Solutions Department and the Agency from good to great as deemed necessary.
- Systems analysis and solution design for application(s) 5%
- Development of the presentation layer of the website, ensuring pages are error free, cross browser, cross platform and optimized 70%
- Provide input into requirements 5%
- Provide input into project plan with development tasks and time estimates 5%
- Support and lead troubleshooting issues 5%
- Document procedures and web standards and maintain website with CMS 5%
- Perform other job duties as may be required 5%
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience
- Skilled in the following: Java, HTML, CSS, Java Script, XML.
- Experience with various System Development Life cycles (SDLC)
- Experience working with various Project Management practices and disciplines
- Strong interpersonal skills to augment a close working relationship with the business teams
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well within tight timelines, strong organizational skills
- Must be self-directed and results-driven with a strong customer focus
- Experience with a Source Control System (Git, SVN)
- Experience with Apache Virtual Host Configuration a plus
- Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager and/or Blackbaud Luminate a plus
