Summary
The Senior Director of Digital Experience will play a key role in operationalizing and evolving our supporter centric strategy aimed at transforming the way Save the Children engages our current and new supporters. This role is responsible for overseeing supporter experience, digital analytics, digital production and digital operations teams and will work closely with senior leadership to shift the organization from a channel centric to support centric model. Key to this role will be leveraging Adobe tools and platforms to better move supporters through the marketing funnel from awareness to loyalty, aimed at delivering the right content to the right supporters at the right time, and ensuring that supporters are delighted with their brand experience. This senior role will work collaboratively with our integrated fundraising, digital marketing, creative and content teams to ensure that we are able to increase supporter engagement as well as raise brand awareness.
Background
Save the Children is at an exciting point in its history. We have spent the last few years building a plan to migrate our website platforms, appearance and content and now are on the cusp of launching this plan. At the heart of this effort is a seismic shift in our strategy and structure to put our supporters at the heart of our approach. This shift impacts our people, process and technologies and we are looking for a senior digital leader to help us along this transformation journey. In many cases, we are just at the start of building the strategies that will allow us to create the right experiences for supporters with our new Adobe tools, and an organization that will leverage Centers of Excellence to achieve our ambitions. This digital leader needs to be an inspiring, motivated, strategic thinker able to operationalize strategies and plans for the short and long term.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
- Guide organization on plans, both pre and post website launch, to develop the optimal supporter experience and journeys for our audience segments. This digital leader will work across agency stakeholders to support our personalization/segmentation strategies, ecommerce optimization and related content strategies underpinned by a deep understanding of analytics. Success will be measured by increases in fundraising, supporter engagement and brand strength. (30%)
- With digital analytics insights playing a critical role in our supporter strategy, this leader, in partnership with the Director of Digital Analytics, will develop best in class strategic analytics approaches to operationalize our cutting edge Adobe Analytics tools and will create a Digital Analytics Center of Excellence for the organization, helping to democratize the use of data with key stakeholders in the agency. This role includes oversight of the 3 person digital analytics team. (30%)
- Oversight of digital operations and production teams leveraging our Adobe Experience Manager and Blackbaud Luminate platforms in partnership with our IT team ensuring that our website is fully functional at all times, and that we are quick to market in response to world events and crises. This team will support our digital success by improving back end operation effectiveness and enhancing the front end digital experience. This role includes oversight of 5 person team including UX experts. (25%)
- Leader in sharing emerging digital trends and technologies with senior management. Partners with key leaders in Digital Marketing, Content, Integrated Fundraising, Community Engagement, Sponsorship, Corporate and other areas of the organization to ensure we are leveraging the latest digital tools to meet growing demands. (5%)
- Serve as a US lead on integration and collaboration with global digital plans and strategies as it pertains to digital technology and the supporter experience. Works in partnership with the AVP of Global Digital located in the U.S.

Required Qualifications
- You have a minimum 10-15 years' experience in area of expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
- Proven track record of digital leadership, with a keen understanding of how analytics, experience, content and digital tools intersect
- Entrepreneurial thinker, focused on results, with the ability to prioritize effectively. Supports agile digital delivery and manages projects and long-term strategies on time and in a complex environment.
- High energy yet pragmatic leadership style to excite and motivate a team, as well as the ability to hire, train, mentor, motivate and retain a strong, nimble and effective staff. Ability to scale team as needed, mine additional requirements and groom the team members to be digital champions.
- Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders including Senior Management.
- Travel in accordance with business need, some global travel will be required.
