Summary

Digital copywriter who lives and breathes innovative storytelling and thrives on the challenge of ranking number one on key search terms. Skillfully applies digital best practices to develop creative, compelling content to help the world’s leading charity for children build brand awareness, increase supporter engagement and raise more money, ultimately saving even more lives and futures.

 

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Provide digital copywriting support to deliver creative, compelling copy across digital channels including website, email, blog, search, display and native advertising.

  • Work with the Director of Brand Communications and other agency stakeholders to develop compelling copy that reflects digital best practices. Ensure copy is aligned with our brand in messaging and tone, as well as our agency priorities, editorial calendar and project objectives to optimize our supporter experience. (40%)
  • Optimize new and existing website content for personalization, SEO and SEM. Create content marketing landing pages in support of various campaigns and appeals. Provide copywriting support for multimedia projects and short-form narratives. (35%)
  • Edit, revised and proofread copy, according to agency editorial guidelines. Assist with our brand review board, helping ensure all agency communications are accurate, consistent and on-brand. Create and manage digital editorial guidelines. (10%)
  • Actively participate in creative ideation and communications strategy development. (5%)
  • Create copy for integrated, omni-channel campaigns, including print, out of home, radio or video, as needed. (5%)
  • Support emergency responsiveness through timely, effective emergency communications. Take on other relevant projects and work, as assigned. (5%)

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. A passion for persuasive, customer-centric writing, storytelling and the ability to produce creative, compelling copy under tight deadlines.
  • High School or Technical/Vocational Degree
  • Experience creating copy for a range of digital platforms. Exceptional written communication and editing skills. Knowledge of the latest trends in digital marketing, particularly SEO/SEM and content marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in increasing website traffic, lead generation and conversion rates.
  • Excellent people skills, time management and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Available for regularly scheduled on-call assignments and to work extra hours or travel during declared humanitarian emergencies or seasonally busy times to support communications needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An English, Marketing, Communications or related degree is desirable.
  • Nonprofit experience a plus.
