The Financial Architecture and Systems team is accountable for ensuring the organization’s financial data architecture enables the organization to properly account for and report on revenue and expenditures. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and delivering on projects across the Division. The focus will be on improvement of systems and data. S/he will work with stakeholders to understand business needs, document detailed requirements, and deliver results for priority projects. S/he also advises on the importance of data stewardship and document its impact on financial data reporting, analysis, and system integration.

Data and Systems (35%)
- Serve as subject matter expert for all financial data feeds. Responsible for documenting and monitoring existing data exchanges between various financial systems. Responsible for requirements definition, design, and implementation of a new data feeds as needed. Oversees data cleansing efforts prior to implementation of feeds. Develops communication plans on data flows (ensure stakeholders know where to go for what types of information). Supports agency/ SCI initiatives such as Agresso Convergence to ensure agency needs are represented and met and to understand decision impacts on SCUS. Ensures data architecture enables efficient management reporting.
Project Management (30%)
- Responsible for planning and delivering on priority projects. Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders in understanding business needs, priorities and/or participate in business objectives documentation. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, and distinguish business requests from the underlying true needs. Evaluates for consistency with data architecture and with policies. Document detailed business requirements and/or support Functional Business Leads with documentation of business requirements and diagraming the flow (including inputs and outputs) of a business process. Develop project plans as needed. Act as the liaison between the business units, IT and support teams. Lead first level system testing and coordinate with Functional Business Leads for final testing and sign off. Review and advise on training materials and module documentation. Support Functional Business Leads with communications regarding process changes and system enhancements. Ensure documentation libraries are maintained
Capacity Building (25%)
- Work with stakeholders both internal and external to Finance to build capacity in use of financial systems, as well as data analytics. Develop Finance staff skills in data architecture and data management.
Day-to-day Coding Support (10%)
- Support Finance staff responsible for Home Office-based code creation and maintenance. Support country-based coding on behalf of SCI Support/Global Finance. Monitor code creation and string setup (SoF Masterfile) to ensure consistency with CAS-related policies. Support key Finance processes with respect to data integrity (such as contract entry, SCI expense data).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in finance functions
- Business analysis (BA) background, with strong analytical and facilitation skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into detailed system requirements
- Quick learner - ability and desire to learn new concepts/skills quickly.
- Highly developed problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Familiar with basic accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a large scale systems implementation.
- Experience with not-for-profit financial coding is preferred.
- Experience working with grant regulations, and financial management policies & procedures preferred.
- Project management experience/ familiarity. Certification and/or course work related to Six Sigma or Project Management preferred.
