The Sponsorship and Grants Manager will manage grants and sponsorships association-wide, prepare budgets, research funding opportunities, monitor expenditures, identify support agencies and track grant performance for YMCA of Bucks County.
Areas of Responsibility:
Corporate Giving and Sponsorships (30%)
- Maintain clean corporate giving and sponsorship files.
- Manage corporate and event sponsorship timetable and implement all sponsorship activities for branch/association-wide events/programs.
- Draft high-quality corporate proposals/packets for program and event sponsorships association-wide.
- Track all sponsor benefits and ensure that all are in compliance in program brochures, on sponsor lists, banner and donor recognition walls.
- Collaborate with Branch Development Directors and lead effort for development program brochure messaging 6 times per year.
- Develop/provide proposal templates, resources, and sales kits for procurement of sponsorships and staff trainings/meetings.
- Prepare timely and accurate impact statements monthly for corporate and business/sponsor investors.
Grants and Proposal Management (40%)
- Maintain clean grant proposal files.
- Manage grant timetable and submissions for all grant and government funding activities for branch/association-wide programmatic and capital support.
- Draft high-quality proposals “winning” proposals a month in advance of deadlines, pre-read documents and position papers, grant requests, partnership appeals, letters, emails, to corporations and foundations for capital and programmatic gifts. Attention to detail, correct punctuation and grammar is required.
- Prepare grant budgets and monitor grant expenditures, filing monthly financial reports for Regional Director of Development.
- Draft high-quality reports for grants as required by grant-making entities.
- Prepare power points for presentation, reporting and trainings.
- Complete and submit EITC renewals, new funding requests and reports to the Commonwealth of PA on May 1st on any calendar year and strictly adhere to this.
- Manage EITC Corporate Prospect List and send out solicitations.
- Interface with staff to ensure compliance of grant proposals and collect and analyze all data to track grant performance.
- Research new funding opportunities monthly and identify support agencies.
Stewardship/Government Advocacy/Cultivation Activities (20%)
- Maintain a stewardship calendar for all corporate and foundation prospects/donors that includes important stewardship activities.
- Maintain an advocacy calendar for all government entities with meeting dates.
- Administer all corporate, foundation and government gifts, collaborating with finance to record gifts. Complete all acknowledgments and maintain donor records/files.
Other (10%)
- Actively participate in Walk the Talk and adhere to the schedule.
- Model relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required/needed.
- Adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) Code for Ethical Standards for responsible fundraising practices.
- Follow all Human Resources Policies and procedures of the organization.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years of previous fundraising experience with non-profit organization, specifically in grant work and EITC preferred.
- Accountable and goal/deadline/detail-oriented with a proven, successful, grant track record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to develop high-level proposals.
- Strong analytical skills, highly organized, motivated and able to work independently and write powerful documents swiftly and competently.
- Must have excellent computer skills related to the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as database platforms.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with community, staff, and volunteers required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor information.
