The Research Utilization and GoB Relations Advisor collaborates with senior research staff to develop and implement research studies, with a particular focus on ensuring adequate dissemination and demonstrable use of the research findings. Creates, recommends, and executes research utilization mechanisms for project and Government of Bangladesh (GOB) advancement.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads development and implementation of project’s research utilization strategies, in collaboration with research study teams and project leadership. Strategies include ongoing stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, communications, policy advocacy, and capacity building.
  • Oversees effort to build capacity of key decision-makers in applying multi-sector nutrition evidence to specific policies and programs in Bangladesh.
  • Serves as the liaison with internal and external partners related to research communications or uptake to ensure effective collaboration efforts.
  • Writes and edits technical reports and documents. Assists with publications, web pages, and presentations.
  • Ensures strong knowledge management within the project, organizing information produces directly by the team but also by others in the field of multi-sector nutrition.
  • Conducts searches of and synthesizes new and emerging literature on multi-sector nutrition, and ensures project team and related stakeholders have access to it, understand it, and use it.
Educational Background: 
Master’s degree or its International Equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 5-8 years of experience. Ideally, 3-4 of those years devoted specifically to facilitating research communication, uptake, and evidence-based decision making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, analytical software and other technology required.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language.
  • Prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, and practices with research utilization, methodology, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent quantitative and/or qualitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent and demonstrated research and evaluation project management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to resolve issues with new concepts and approaches to ensure research objectives are met.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10-20%
