The Executive Director is the key management leader of Bayaud Enterprises. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the executive staff, administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, communication strategies, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
· Responsible for leading Bayaud in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
· Responsible for communicating effectively, oral and written with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
· Responsible for the fiscal integrity of Bayaud, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
· Responsible for the fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensure maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
· Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources to support Bayaud’s mission.
· Responsible for implementation of Bayaud’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
· Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that Bayaud can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
· Responsible for the enhancement of Bayaud’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
· Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
· Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
· Actively involved with fundraising activities.
· Regular attendance in the office to effectively supervise employees and daily operations.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Serving as Bayaud’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media and the general public.
· Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations, and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance Bayaud’s mission.
· Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy and financial decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of Bayaud.
· Plan, coordinate, and control the daily operations of the organization through the organization’s Chief Operating Officer.
· Oversee the execution of the operating budget prepared by the Chief Financial Officer.
· Oversee the fundraising, marketing and communications plans prepared by the Chief Development Officer.
· Dispense advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out strategic plans, adherence to the code of ethics and best practices consistent with the established policies and Board approval.
· Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
· Implements employment and human resource policies for all functions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages three subordinate supervisors, Chief Development Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, who each supervise a total of 2-10 employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing grievances if they reach the executive level and resolving problems.
